𝗢𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲:

The Echolance colonies included many children living across multiple ships. Naturally, they were all educated, but not in the way we usually imagine schooling.

𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. Children spent the year living with several families, learning how the ship functioned as part of daily life.

The exchange served more than one purpose. It was cultural, as each ship developed its own character and traditions. It was also biological. Shared exposure helped maintain common immunity to everyday illnesses across the fleet. A civilization that lives together must remain resilient together.

Learning was operational. And the most capable students were assigned to the flagship, not as a reward, but as a responsibility.
