Anlaan was founded in 1986 by Don Anderson and Gerrit Terlaan, hence the name Anlaan. Don and Gerrit worked together prior to the forming of the Anlaan Corporation at a western Michigan company where they developed a relationship and skill for bidding and constructing heavy civil projects. Together they gradually built the business from it's inception to a multi million dollar heavy civil contract

Our thoughts are with all of the families, friends, & coworkers affected by this heartbreaking loss. Work zone safety matters - slow down, stay alert, & move over. 🧡🚧

MITA is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two MDOT workers killed in a work zone crash on US-127. Our hearts go out to their families, loved ones, and colleagues during this difficult time.

Every day, thousands of workers around Michigan show up to build and maintain the roads that connect our communities — and they all deserve to come home safely. Every fatality in a work zone is a devastating reminder that more must be done to protect the men and women who keep our roads moving.

We call on drivers to slow down, pay attention, and remember that it is up to all of us to protect each other on the road.

Work zones are not just traffic delays – they are someone’s workplace. Someone’s neighbor. Someone’s family member.

We will continue to advocate for stronger work zone safety measures, increased enforcement, and the resources needed to protect every worker on every project across Michigan.

As we wrap up Construction Safety Week 2026, we’re reminded that the most important thing we do isn’t building roads, bridges, or buildings — it’s making sure everyone makes it home safe.
This week reinforced the importance of recognizing hazards, responding with the right controls, & respecting every worker, every role, & every life on the jobsite. Safety isn’t just a one-week focus — it’s a commitment we carry every single day.
Thank you to our crews, partners, & everyone who continues to put safety first. We’re all in this together. 👷🚧🦺💛
