Whether you’re stopping at a Bosselman Energy cardlock or another location, when fueling up in Nebraska, here's what you need to know.

1. Most gasoline sold in Nebraska contains ethanol; a renewable fuel made from corn.

2. The numbers on the buttons at the pump represent octane levels.
87 Octane = Standard fuel for most vehicles
88 Octane = Also known as E15 (Unleaded 88), a budget friendly fuel option with up to15% ethanol
89 Octane = Mid-grade option
91+ Octane = Premium fuel for vehicles that require higher octane

3. Any 87, 89, and 91+ fuels can have an ethanol blend added and if so, it will be noted at the pump. Common ethanol blends include:
• E10 (10% Ethanol, the most common gasoline blend),
• E15 (Unleaded 88, up to 15% Ethanol), and
• E85 (Flex Fuel / 51%-83% Ethanol). Higher ethanol blends are often priced cheaper than lower-ethanol fuels in the Midwest.

4. E15 is approved by the EPA for most vehicles made in 2001 or newer. E85 should only be used in Flex Fuel Vehicles.

Last week, a customer came to us in urgent need of assistance. Her husband was ill and unable to help with harvest, and her son was only in town for a short time to help complete the work before returning home. They were facing challenges with a propane grain truck and needed immediate support.

Larry didn't hesitate to step in. He quickly arranged to fuel the grain truck and took the time to troubleshoot its performance, offering practical solutions and continued support to help keep the operation moving forward. His willingness to go above and beyond made a difficult situation significantly easier for this family and demonstrated our commitment to taking care of our customers when they need us most.

The impact of Larry's service was immediate. Within a day, discussions had begun about expanding our relationship and becoming their primary fuel and propane provider. As a token of appreciation, the family even stopped by with cookies to thank Larry for his outstanding service.

E15: More Choice at the Pump

As a full-service fuel supplier, Bosselman Energy supports access to a broad range of fuel choices, including E15.
E15 is a gasoline blend containing 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline. Approved by the EPA for use in model year 2001 and newer cars, SUVs, and light-duty trucks, E15 typically provides a higher-octane fuel option and is often priced lower than conventional gasoline.
