At the 1st Annual ASA Houston Subcontractor Excellence Awards, Polk Mechanical was honored to bring home TWO incredible awards:

🌟 Mentor of the Year: Eddie Trejo

Eddie was selected by ASA Houston leadership for his outstanding commitment to mentoring the next generation of construction professionals. Through his involvement with programs like ACE Mentor and CIEF, Eddie has dedicated countless hours to helping students and young professionals discover opportunities in our industry and build confidence in their careers. His passion for investing in others makes this recognition incredibly well deserved.

This award recognizes companies that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to safety culture, performance, and industry leadership. This recognition reflects the dedication of our field teams, project teams, and safety professionals who work to ensure everyone goes home safe at the end of each day!

We are incredibly proud of Eddie and grateful for every member of Polk Nation who helps make achievements like these possible. These awards are a reflection of what matters most to us: investing in people and keeping them safe.

We're proud to recognize Jacob for the kind of work that doesn't go unnoticed, even by those outside our team!

We had the opportunity to celebrate Jacob's hard work after a safety manager from a general contractor we are working with reached out to recognize him for his leadership, professionalism, and the example he sets every single day on the jobsite. That kind of acknowledgment means everything to Polk Nation.

"Jacob has gone above and beyond keeping our site safe and barricaded, making sure our crew is trained on equipment and tools, and stepping up to keep the site clean and organized even beyond what was asked of him."

We honored him at our toolbox meeting on 5/27 with the whole Polk Nation crew around him. Jacob, you are exactly what Polk is all about. We are proud to have you on our team.

Safety Week 2026 was a great reminder that safety is more than a program, it is a commitment we make to each other every day!

This week, our teams across DFW, HOU, and CTX came together to participate in Safety Week activities focused on training, engagement, field observations, conversations, and reinforcing the importance of working safely both on and off the jobsite.

We want to recognize and thank all of our field teams, supervisors, operations leaders, safety professionals, and support staff who participated throughout the week. Your involvement, leadership, and dedication continue to strengthen Polk Mechanical’s safety culture.

From toolbox talks and stand-downs to hands-on discussions and team engagement, it was great to see everyone actively involved and committed to looking out for one another.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Safety Week successful. Let’s continue carrying this mindset forward every day in the field and in our offices.

What better way to celebrate National Skilled Trades Day than by investing in the next generation of skilled trades professionals! 👏

Yesterday, Polk was proud to attend the Houston ISD Trades Day EXPO, where more than 500 high school seniors in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs explored career opportunities in the trades after graduation.

Thank you to Ana Rodriguez for representing Polk, connecting with students, answering questions, and sharing the many opportunities available within our industry. We’re excited to continue supporting the future workforce that will help build tomorrow’s communities. 🔧🏗️

A great night celebrating great work at the TEXO Distinguished Building Award Recognition Night 2026.

Polk took home the Specialty Contractor Mechanical 1 ($0–$5M) award for the StandardAero Clean Line project and it’s all thanks to the team behind it.

This project took thoughtful planning, strong partnerships, and a crew committed to getting it done right. Grateful for the team, the partners, and the work that continues to push us forward!

We competed alongside other North Texas teams at a national level at the ABC National Craft Championships!

Julian Lopez, competing as part of a Commercial Team, brought home silver in the Sheet Metal category marking Polk’s second time on the podium at this event! Jesus Manqueros (Plumbing) and Kevin Espinosa (Pipefitting) also competed on the national stage, representing Polk with a high level of skill and professionalism.

From the competition floor to behind the scenes, it took a full team effort. Thank you to our judges Marshall Manry, Robert Adams, Brandon Burback, and Steven Miller for supporting the next generation.

We’re also proud to see strong results from CEF/TEXO, with silver in Commercial Teams, bronze in Pipefitting, and multiple safety awards across Welding, Pipefitting, and Sheet Metal.
