This is what residential concrete layout looks like when you stop pulling tape and start working digitally with Topcon.

One of the biggest questions we get before someone pulls the trigger on HP SitePrint is always some version of the same thing: how do I program the robot, and what if I don't have anyone with CAD skills in-house?

We use a plugin inside AutoCAD or Revit to convert your design model into a robot-ready file — one that tells the machine what to print, where the obstacles are, and where your control points are on site. The Mechasys XR Projector is new to the United States — and it changes what layout looks like on a job site.

Instead of transferring locating points by hand, your operator selects the drawing from the Layout Field app, sets up using control points, control lines, or existing site features, and the laser projector takes it from there. Your design is projected at full 1:1 scale directly onto the floor, ceiling, or wall. Walls, soffits, HVAC, plumbing, electrical — whatever is in your model shows up exactly where it needs to be, on any surface, with sub-1/8in accuracy.

No tape measures. No total station. Just mark or install right onto the projection. Your drawing is the layout.

A total station is a survey instrument used for layout on job sites, marking exact points for foundations, footings, anchor bolts, and grading. And it works by locking onto a target pole from a fixed position, then guiding the crew forward, back, left, or right until they're standing on the exact point needed.
