Color Press Operator 2nd Shift

Are you a person who loves to work with their hands? Do you have a desire to work with highly motivated individuals in a fast-paced environment? Advance Packaging is seeking a person who wishes to learn how to operate a Press in the box making industry to produce a quality product with accuracy.

Color Press Operators work in a team to set up the machine for each order, each order is custom designed and many orders are run each shift. These machines are not just monitored, they require changes for each order for print color, printing dies, cutting specifications and computer settings with many more integrated tools and settings. These machines, in many cases, are state of the art.

The product must be quality inspected as produced throughout the order run to ensure quality. Not just one person is responsible for these quality checks. It takes members of the team to perform them and make appropriate adjustments. Once the perfect boxes are manufactured they are also unitized and bundled to the customers specifications for delivery to their plant floor.

These jobs are detailed in their tasks. People successful in these jobs are professionals in their field. They are also the employees who are considered for promoting to higher level positions when opportunities arise. WE TRAIN on these jobs. Consider training times that can last up to 18 months. Learning and becoming proficient in this industry is a time commitment. Starting hourly rates for inexperienced Trainees begin at $16.00. Rates are negotiable depending on related manufacturing experience. Top rates for the most complex machines and the most skilled operators can exceed $29.00. 2nd shift offers a $0.50 shift rate and 3rd shift offers $0.30 rate above hourly rate. Over time is not a guarantee but when advance notice is given, over time is required to be worked.

Like to use logic on the job? Enjoy puzzles? Like to stay busy at all times? Than you need to consider operating a transfer cart. Like a hilo, a transfer cart moves work from one area of the plant to another. But unlike a hilo, it is computerized and drives itself! So why do we need you? Because something always needs changing.

Learn the transfer cart computer program, change the programed scheduled movement or get on the cart and drive it yourself. You are primary in keeping production running at its most efficient by jumping in when problems occur or orders change. You must keep a constant eye on work moving across hundreds of conveyors and jump to action when trouble occurs by logically moving work for orders into new positions on the conveyor lines.

And when you aren’t monitoring or driving the carts, you need to drive a hilo to move work onto conveyor lines or into storage. You will be in constant motion, but not all of it using your feet!

Starting rate is $15.00 per hour. 2nd shift offers a $0.50 shift premium and 3rd shift provides $0.30 shift premium.

Qualified candidates for all possible machines will possess:

Job entails scanning and documenting information into an electric warehousing system and moving product using a standard sit-down forklift truck / hilo. Also using production line ba**er during shift.
