Let’s look at the widespread impact 3D printing is having in two specific use cases.

I have been following 3D construction for a few years and while the technology is getting more advanced and I see the value from a labor standpoint, I just wonder if it will catch on like some other advancements in the industry. I am huge proponent of Modular building as it seems to cover all of the facets of a controlled environment and when the product shows up on site its construction time is significantly reduced. It will be interesting to see all of these new concepts take a foothold in construction in the years to come.

As the weekend begins, here is some food for thought! Have a wonderful weekend, and let's get started on your dreams and goals!

At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA.
At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job.
At age 24, Stephen King was working as a janitor and living in a trailer.
At age 27, Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school.
At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare.
At age 28, Wayne Coyne (from The Flaming Lips) was a fry cook.
At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter.
At age 30, Martha Stewart was a stockbroker.
At age 37, Ang Lee was a stay-at-home-dad working odd jobs.
Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39, and got her own cooking show at age 51.
Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didn’t get the Editor-in-Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at age 40.
Stan Lee didn’t release his first big comic book until he was 40.
Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42.
Samuel L. Jackson didn’t get his first movie role until he was 46.
Morgan Freeman landed his first MAJOR movie role at age 52.
Kathryn Bigelow only reached international success when she made The Hurt Locker at age 57.
Grandma Moses didn’t begin her painting career until age 76.
Louise Bourgeois didn’t become a famous artist until she was 78.

Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet.

Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it.
Never tell yourself you missed your chance.
Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough.
You can do it. Whatever it is.

The Hotel Industry is receiving great news month over month, which is a positive outcome for my clients and brand development friends who worked hard to persevere through Covid and Post Covid travel restrictions. It is hoped that this trend will continue, leading to a record-breaking year for the industry in 2023.

Helped by spring break travel, U.S. hotel performance increased from the previous week, according to STR‘s latest data through 18 March.

What a great end to 2022 for the Choice Brand! I have had the pleasure of getting to know many of the members of their Brand Development team over the last few months, and based on my conversations with them, I am not surprised to see their success. I am excited to see what the future holds for them, their team and their franchise owners in 2023.

So who did you have winning the Super Bowl? Do you think the penalty should have been called at the end of the game? Who is your favorite to win it all next year?

How did the Chiefs pull off a flawless second half on offense and beat the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII? It starts with Patrick Mahomes.

This too shall pass!

This phrase has been around for centuries and is still used today to remind us that no matter how difficult our current situation may be, it will eventually pass. It is a reminder to remain hopeful and to keep going, no matter what. This phrase is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and reminds that no matter how hard life may be, it is only temporary. This too shall pass.

I love this mentality and the spin that Tom Hanks puts on the saying. In business, it is not just about the bad times but also remembering the good times shall pass as well. We all know that business is cyclical, and we must prepare for the good and the bad. Have a great weekend!

In 2023, the construction industry is expected to continue to grow. With the increasing demand for new housing and infrastructure, the industry will need to keep up with the growing need for new construction projects. As the economy continues to improve, more people will be able to afford to build new homes and businesses, leading to an increase in construction projects. Additionally, the use of technology in the construction industry is expected to continue to grow, with new innovations in automation and digital tools making the process of construction faster and more efficient. As a result, the construction industry is expected to remain a key contributor to the economy in 2023.

I got this from my brother today! This is so important and sometimes forgotten. Complacency is your enemy!

If you want to succeed in business, it is essential to have a strong desire to learn. Without a willingness to learn, no one can help you reach your goals. On the other hand, if you are determined to learn and grow, no one can stop you from achieving success. Therefore, having a strong commitment to learning is essential for success in business.

Most of us in construction have been talking about this for quite a long time now! The lack of new people choosing construction as a vocation versus those retiring or leaving has been upside down and will continue for a decade.

It will continue to take a monumental effort to change our course. Technology and education are just two prongs in this approach to drive people back to construction-related jobs.

I am excited to see how construction looks in the future. I feel we are on the cusp of some incredible leaps in technology, construction means, and methods!

Demand for electricians is expected to grow—and we need to be able to train and educate this workforce quickly; simulations can help.
