Treads and Threads is the University of Kansas Health System's annual black-tie gala dedicated to expanding cancer care and supporting patients and families across our community. This year, attendees raised more than $2.4 million to support the construction of a world-class patient care and cancer research building at The University of Kansas Cancer Center. This transformational project will accelerate innovative research and enhance care for thousands of patients facing a cancer diagnosis.

Some people leave a mark that never fades.

Today, Kelly Construction Group gathers to honor the legacy of Jeff Pickett, a valued member of our team who we lost last year after a two-year battle with cancer. Jeff was the kind of person who made everyone around him better, and his commitment to safety, accountability, and looking out for one another set a standard that lives on in everything we do.

In his honor, we are hosting the inaugural Jeff Pickett Master Carpenter Golf Tournament, a day on the course dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of someone who meant so much to this team.

We are grateful for the time we had with him. His impact on this team will never be forgotten.

Meet Chris Wunder, one of our newest Estimator at Kelly Construction Group.

Chris grew up in a heavy civil excavation family, so construction has always been part of his world. He brings that same people-first mindset to estimating, where his approach is less spreadsheet, more conversation. By 9 a.m. on a Tuesday, he is already on the phone with trade partners, working through scope gaps and making sure every detail is covered before the day gets away from him.

His philosophy? Pick up the phone instead of hiding behind email. It prevents a lot of confusion, and it keeps projects moving.

Outside the office, Chris stays grounded with family time, the outdoors, and sports. And if lunch is on him at a job site, he is finding the best local barbecue around.

We are glad to have him here.

A great cause, great company, and great brats.

Kelly Construction Group was proud to sponsor the Olathe Health Golf Classic, an event dedicated to supporting healthcare right here in our community. We did not just show up with a check. We showed up with a grill.

Our team spent the day cooking brats for golfers and volunteers, because that is the kind of community partner we want to be. Not just a logo on a sign, but people who roll up their sleeves and get involved.

Glow All Out is one of Kansas City's most exciting evenings, and this year did not disappoint - with a total of $832,090 raised for NKC Health Women's Care! Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting women's care right here in our community, and being part of that mission is something we are honored to do.

Meet Erica Vaughn, Kelly Construction Group's newest Project Manager.

Erica joined Kelly because she wants to do work that matters close to home. Staying local, investing in the community, and being part of a team that genuinely cares about Kansas City is not just something she appreciates. It is something she looks for.

She brings that same intentionality to every project she manages. She is organized from day one, runs everything through a spreadsheet, and believes that a well-set-up project is a well-run project. She is also transparent to a fault, which is exactly the kind of project manager clients and teammates want in their corner.

Her measure of a good day? How many problems she solved. The busier and messier it gets, the more she thrives.

And when vendors fall short, she has been known to pull out her Cricut and handle it herself. Resourceful does not begin to cover it.

There is no greater compliment than a client who keeps coming back. Kelly Construction Group has had the privilege of being part of multiple Club Pilates location openings, and we just wrapped up another one. That relationship did not happen by accident. It was built on a smooth process, consistent quality, and a team that knows how to deliver every single time.

Fitness facilities are built differently than most commercial spaces. The materials and finishes have to hold up to the daily demands of people training hard, and every decision made during construction has to reflect that. Knowing the space, understanding the needs, and delivering efficiently without cutting corners is what makes the difference.

As the general contractor, our job is to manage every moving part, coordinate the right subcontractors, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks from the first day of preconstruction to the final walkthrough.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to on every project we manage.

Jeremy believes construction is as much a service industry as it is a building industry. To him, how you treat clients, trade partners, and teammates matters just as much as delivering quality work.

As a Superintendent, Jeremy is the boots-on-the-ground leader who keeps projects safe, organized, and moving forward. He coordinates trade partners, ensures the work in the field stays true to the design, and keeps communication flowing between the job site and the office.
