Happy Birthday to Eric!

With just over a year at NU-YAR, Eric has become an important part of our team. He has a natural ability to connect with everyone — our clients, our employees, and our trade partners. And he brings a positive attitude to whatever the day throws his way.

Eric is talented, dependable, and always willing to do whatever the company needs. As we've grown, he's grown right alongside us, taking on more responsibility and continuing to step up whenever we need him.

Cheers to the birthday guy! And we hope he gets his moose 😀

Co****le, Competition & a Little NU-YAR Spirit

Last week, a few of us traded the jobsite for the co****le boards with mixed results. 😂

David and I appropriately named our team The Board Meeting. We lost two and were out. Apparently, executive leadership does not translate to co****le skills.

Our second game was against Vern and Eric, aka Team Bromance, and for a minute, we actually thought we might beat them. Then I made the mistake of reminding them that they couldn't possibly let the old people win. That was apparently all the motivation they needed. They kicked it up a few notches and took us out. 🤣

Team Bromance went on to finish fourth, so at least we can say we lost to respectable competition!

But the best part of the day might have been a surprise visit from our littlest NU-YAR fan, Maura, sporting her NU-YAR Construction onesie. 🩷 Grandma got lots of snuggles, which made up for losing.

A little competition, a lot of laughs, and time together outside of work. Not a bad way to spend a day with this crew.

And next year, the Board Meeting is coming prepared. 😆

Yesterday, NU-YAR Construction had the opportunity to spend the day talking with students about careers in construction and the skilled trades.

The timing couldn’t be more important. A recent report ranked Maine last in the nation for its skilled-trades training pipeline — while the need for skilled workers continues to grow.

We believe changing that starts with showing young people what a career in construction can actually look like: opportunities to learn, build real skills, grow into leadership, earn a great living, and take pride in work you can see at the end of every day.

We were proud to be part of yesterday’s event, sharing what we love about this industry and hopefully inspiring a few future builders along the way.

The future of our industry is worth investing in.

We have the best partners!

David and I had an incredible day at Gillette Stadium on Sunday courtesy of our friends at Cross Insurance — and a Patriots win made it even better!

We talk a lot about the importance of relationships at NU-YAR, and that includes the partners who support our business. We’re incredibly fortunate to work with people who take great care of us, our company, and our team.
