Before and after doesn't look like much at first glance. This was an A/C replacement. New cased indoor coil, sheet metal transition, and sheet metal riser for the coil so when it comes time to replace the furnace, we can get it out from below the new coil.

Furnace sizing. Heating guys think about it. Homeowners, not so much. Here's the scoop, bigger isn't better 🙀. Remember, your furnace needs to provide comfort on days like today, -12°, all the way up thru say, 65°. The colder it is outside, the more heating capacity required. There's more that goes into proper furnace sizing but, the important thing to know is that today we have multi-stage heating and modulating heating furnaces to better match the heating output with the needs of the varying conditions we see. Boilers can do the same.
When it's time to replace or update your homes comfort system, consider multi-stage equipment.

In the world of wood burning stoves, apparently all sizes are approximate. Stove vents in 6" round pipe but black, 6" stove pipe doesn't fit the top of the stove (oversized) or the Class A venting through the roof (undersized). No problem over here! Fab up a 6-3/16" I.D. to 5-7/8"O.D., 16 guage adapter.

We opened this week with a crane lift and closed the week with one. Carrier unit on Monday, Trane on Friday, both with an assist from Shea's Iron Works boom trucks and operators.
