❄️🥶❄️
There have been 2 fires recently because overloaded electrical circuits, both of which were attributed to the use of portable space heaters. The appliances draw an incredible amount of energy and using more than 1 at a time can overcome you home wiring, especially in older homes. Because they draw so much electricity they are also expensive to use, a lot of the time it's cheaper, and certainly safer to turn your thermostat up in your home. But if you have no other option please only use 1 at a time, keep it at least 3 feet away from ANYTHING combustible, and turn it off when you're not in the room. There is a link to safety tips for winter heating below. Also is a picture of an exhaust for a furnace that because of the extreme cold weather has frozen solid because of the moisture in the exhaust freezing inside the exhaust piping. Not only can this cause a fire, but if the exhaust is blocked this will not allow deadly carbon monoxide out and it will build up in your home. If you have any question you can ask them here in the comments or call 694-2874 and we will be happy to speak with you. This weather is supposed to last at least another week, please be safe out there!
