Proud to Support the 2026 Going Places Gala 🚲
We are thrilled to announce that UIG is an official sponsor of this year’s Going Places Gala!

At UIG, we believe in the power of community and the impact of a simple act of kindness. That’s why we’re partnering with to help reach their 2026 goal: providing 2,500 bikes to children in Title 1 schools across the Charleston Lowcountry.

For many of these kids, a bike isn’t just a toy—it’s freedom, confidence, and a fundamental right to joy. We can’t wait to join other community leaders at The Cedar Room on May 15th for an unforgettable night of purpose.

Let’s get these kids moving!

We are All In Together for Construction Safety Week 2026! 🏗️

At United Infrastructure Group , safety isn’t just a protocol—it’s a promise we make to our team and their families every single day. This week, we are proud to join thousands of firms across the industry to celebrate

This year’s theme, “All In Together,” focuses on a unified call to action to identify high-energy hazards and prevent serious injuries. Throughout the week, we are diving deep into the three pillars of safety:

🔍 RECOGNIZE: We are training our eyes to identify “STCKY” (Stuff That Can Kill You) activities. By using tools like the Energy Wheel, we’re improving our hazard recognition by 30%.

🛠️ RESPOND: Recognition isn’t enough. We are responding by implementing direct controls during the planning phase and following the Hierarchy of Risk Controls to mitigate danger before work begins.

🤝 RESPECT: We respect every hazard, every role, and every life. If conditions change, we stop, reassess, and replan.

Safety is a shared responsibility. When we work together with one clear framework, we save lives.

🚧 Safety First: National Work Zone Awareness Week 🚧

At UIG, nothing is more important than ensuring every member of our team returns home safely at the end of the day. This week, we are encouraged to pause, reflect, and engage in vital discussions surrounding Work Zone Safety Awareness.

Since 1992, “struck-by” incidents have remained a leading cause of nonfatal injuries in the construction industry—and they remain a primary cause of fatalities. We aren’t just statistics; we are a team, and safety is a shared responsibility.

🛑 Why We’re Standing Down
The National Work Zone Stand Down is a voluntary opportunity for our teams to:
• Review Temporary Traffic Control Plans to ensure maximum protection.
• Identify and mitigate site-specific hazards before they become accidents.
• Mentor less experienced crew members who may be unfamiliar with the unique risks of active construction zones.
• Reinforce UIG & Affiliate safety policies.

🛠️ Get Involved
Knowledge is our best defense. We encourage project leads to utilize the unique training resources available at CPWR.com to conduct their own safety briefings.

Let’s lead by example. By staying alert and following our protocols, we protect our colleagues, our affiliates, and the public.

Stay safe out there!

🏗️ Project Update: US 76 Bridge over Catfish Branch

Progress is moving fast on the US 76 Bridge Replacement project! Our teams are hitting key milestones as we work toward delivering a safer, more resilient crossing for the community.
A huge shoutout to the crews for their precision and hard work in getting the foundation set and moving us into the vertical phase of construction.

📍 Recent Milestones Achieved:
• Demolition: United Demolition has officially cleared the old structure.
• Foundation: Successful driving of all H-piles for the new bridge foundation.
• Preparation: Fabrication of cap reinforcement cages is complete.
• Progress: End Bent 1 cap has been successfully placed.
• March 23: Pour for the End Bent 2 cap.
• End of March: Set all 10 girders to span the creek.

📅 Target Completion: June 1, 2026

We are proud of the "United" effort between our demolition and infrastructure teams to keep this project on track. Stay tuned for more updates as the bridge takes shape!

REPOST:

The I-26 widening project in Berkeley County is nearing completion.

The interstate is being widened from four to six travel lanes between mile markers 187 and 193. SCDOT is also widening the shoulders of the interstate for added safety, and we’re working to complete two roundabouts at Exit 187 onto SC 27 (Ridgeville Road/Old Gilliard Rd) to help improve the flow of traffic. 🚧

Drivers will also see the eastbound and westbound bridges over the Cypress Swamp fully replaced by the time the project is complete, which is currently scheduled for this fall.

Great day on the range at the CAGC Clay Shoot with our teams from United Infrastructure Group (UIG) and United Engineering & Consulting (UEC).

Events like this are more than just competition—they’re an opportunity to strengthen relationships, connect with industry partners, and enjoy time together outside of the jobsite. From safety and precision in our work to focus and teamwork on the course, it’s always great to see those same qualities carry over.

We appreciate CAGC for hosting another well-run event and bringing together so many professionals across the construction industry.

Proud of our team and grateful for the partnerships that continue to move our industry forward.

Big progress on the Cypress Swamp Bridge along I-26.

Crews are installing decking, setting the final girders, and preparing for the westbound deck pour as we move into the final phase of construction. Once complete, work will shift to the eastbound side to finish widening this critical interstate crossing.

⭐ Women in Construction Week Spotlight
To close out National Association of Women in Construction WIC Week, we’re proud to recognize Karen Bell, Surveyor for the AUBJV team, supporting the Main Road Project in Charleston, SC.

Karen plays a critical role in the field, providing the precise layout and survey support needed to keep complex construction operations moving forward. Pictured here working the night shift, Karen was supporting the team’s drilled shaft and deck pour operations, helping ensure everything stayed on line and on schedule.

Projects like Main Road require long hours, coordination, and dedication from many team members, and Karen’s work in the field is an essential part of that success.

Thank you, Karen, for the professionalism and commitment you bring to the project and to the team.
