At Renew Restoration & Renovations, we want our customers to be happy with both the price for our services, and what they get for that investment once the project is complete. We have some steps we follow to ensure that we can provide this outcome to all our customers.

1. Phone consultation.
Taking a few minutes to discuss your project over the phone is the first step to see if we are a good match for your expectations. We have a particular way of doing things that may or may not be the fit you are looking for in a contractor. Being up front right away about expected timelines, pricing and how your project will proceed if we move forward is our first crucial step for your remodel.

2. Detailed estimates.
While we may offer a ballpark price over the phone, Renew Restoration & Renovations only creates detailed estimates for potential projects. This takes some extra time, but we think its worth the wait. We have transparent pricing, and our detailed estimates become part of the contract you sign, so there is no confusion about what you will receive in exchange for your financial investment.

3. Communication in writing.
Remodeling projects can have a lot of moving parts and change orders as they progress. We are happy to have phone or in-person conversations along the way, but we require a few things to be communicated in writing- for your benefit and ours. Change orders, confirming material selection before purchase, and adding new services are some of the items we want to make sure are done in writing with clarity, so we can ensure that there are no miscommunications on your project, and you are happy with both the price and what you got for it when we are done.

We can’t always control all the factors that come into play on a custom remodeling project, but we believe that these steps help us provide customer satisfaction once the project is complete!

When it comes to custom remodeling, the finished product is only part of the story. The real foundation of a successful project is built long before the first nail is driven.

At Renew Restoration, we believe the estimating and contracting phase is one of the most important parts of the entire process.

Here’s why:

🔹 Clear Communication from the Start
Remodeling can feel overwhelming. That’s why we take time to walk through your project in detail — listening to your goals, explaining options, and making sure expectations are aligned. No vague descriptions. No rushed conversations.

🔹 Transparent Pricing & Detailed Scope of Work
A quality estimate should clearly outline what is (and isn’t) included. Transparency builds trust. When pricing and scope are clearly defined upfront, it protects you from surprises later. We believe you deserve to understand exactly what you’re investing in.

🔹 Honest Scheduling
Reputable remodeling companies are often booked out — and that’s not a red flag, it’s usually a sign they’re in demand for a reason. We won’t promise to start “next week” just to secure a contract. We provide realistic timelines and communicate clearly about scheduling so you can plan confidently.

🔹 Value Over the Lowest Price
Doing work correctly costs more. Proper materials. Skilled labor. Attention to detail. Project management. Insurance. Permits. The cheapest quote is rarely the best value long-term. Quality craftsmanship and doing it right the first time protects your home — and your investment.

At the end of the day, remodeling isn’t just about upgrading a space. It’s about building trust, protecting your home, and delivering work that lasts.

If you’re considering a custom remodeling project and want a team that values transparency, communication, and quality — we’d love to talk.

Smoke damage occurs in many ways…from a dinner on the stove that got out of control, to a propane gas fireplace operating with the flu closed. It’s important to hire a company who will perform onsite surface testing, provide documentation, and a detailed plan on how to restore your home.
The IICRC S700 (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration) is the relatively new and prevailing standard for correct and comprehensive smoke damage clean-up protocols. Since smoke damage clean-up is unregulated in the State of Wisconsin, be sure you find a contractor who is not only certified by the IICRC in smoke and odor control, but also uses the standards set forth in the S700 to ensure your home is restored correctly. IICRC certifications provide the knowledge, but do not ensure the application of it by the company you hire. At a minimum you should receive from your smoke restoration contractor:

1. A document showing a description of the damage found, and pictures of the damage/surface tests performed (dry sponge test, wet wipe test, etc.)
2. An assessment of the type of particle residue present (e.g. natural, synthetic, protein), any health concerns they present, and the proper form of cleaning required for that type of particulate.
3. Full restoration assessment documentation with restoration work plan proposal.
4. Documentation or assessment related to odor control (this is sometimes a separate issue from the standard cleaning protocols)
5. A “white glove” walk-through with owner after cleaning, with optional testing for particulate and odor to ensure the home is clean.

Not sure how to proceed after smoke damage? Call Renew Restoration and we will provide a free assessment of the damage to your home, a restoration work proposal, and an estimate for clean-up costs!

❄️ Extreme Cold Is Coming! ❄️

When temperatures drop fast, frozen pipes can turn into burst pipes and major water damage quickly.

How to prepare before the freeze:
• Insulate exposed pipes if you are aware of one that tends to freeze
• Locate your main water supply valve, or have someone help you if you don't know where it is located
• Open cabinet doors under sinks to let warm air circulate
• Set your thermostat to stay consistent — even overnight
• Let faucets drip slightly during extreme cold

If your pipes freeze:
• Turn off the main water supply immediately using your main water supply valve
• Open a connected faucet to relieve pressure
• Gently warm the pipe with a hair dryer or warm towels
• ❌ Never use open flames
• After a pipe bursts, call a professional right away to have the damage assessed and get the proper cleanup and repairs.

Water damage spreads fast — the sooner it’s handled, the better. If frozen or burst pipes cause damage in your home, our team is ready 24/7 to help restore and protect what matters most. Call us at (920) 634-9449.

Renew Restoration is hoping you all stay warm and dry this week! 🧊💧

Renew Restoration completed a challenging set of custom steps on a bluff for a customer on Lake Michigan before the holiday- These steps were secured to the bluff separate from the deck they sit next to and were installed on a custom steel hinge and bracket that allow them to adjust to the changing bluff terrain and conditions that make steps like this a challenge in these types of locations. This bracket and hinge system allows the steps to creep up the bluff up to 5 feet or raise as high as and parallel to the adjoining deck with any terrain changes or ice shoves that may occur in the future. Custom 4x4 brackets on the step support legs allow the levelness and height to be adjusted as needed to the area it sits on.

A recent review from one of our fire damage restorations-so glad we could help them with the restoration of their home!

We cannot thank Renew Restoration enough. Hands down, they are the best.

We experienced a barn fire that resulted in a total loss and caused extensive damage to our home. My insurance company provided a list of restoration companies to contact, but I mixed up names and called Renew Restoration by accident. It turned out to be the best mistake I have ever made.

From the very first call, I was blown away by Annie’s wealth of knowledge. She was upfront, honest, and incredibly thorough about the entire process. She explained everything clearly, either in detail or in plain, non-insurance jargon when needed. What I appreciated most was that Annie never just talked at me or told me what should be said or done. She backed everything up with real resources, peer-reviewed studies, educational materials, and explanations of ANSI/IICRC S700 standards, which I never knew even existed but now own a copy of. Because of Annie, I don’t just understand the “why” but I can fully support my position with facts. Annie empowered me to advocate for my family and not be taken advantage of during an extremely difficult and frustrating insurance process.

This barely scratches the surface of our gratitude. I could write a book about everything Annie helped us navigate through. Not even including the extra support she offered with non-restoration/insurance questions I brought to her.

Beyond the insurance challenges, Renew Restoration completely transformed our home. After the cleaning and sanitizing, I couldn’t believe it was the same place, it was immaculate. Watching the reconstruction was incredible. Al and Tim are truly exceptional. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and commitment to doing things correctly was evident throughout the entire project. The quality of their work is outstanding.

Being displaced and living in an RV during the restoration was not easy, but Al and Tim’s lighthearted, kind, yet very professional presence made a difficult situation more bearable. Our kids especially loved the Werther treats, which meant more than they probably realized. 😊

Our home finally feels like a home again. Every time I pull into the driveway, I’m overwhelmed thinking about how different things could have been if I hadn’t made that first call to Renew Restoration. One call truly changed the trajectory of our family’s life.

Thank you Annie and Al, with our whole hearts. 💜-5 Star Google Review from Jodee Taylor
