Refrigerated dryers fail differently in summer.
They don't always trip an alarm. They just stop hitting their dewpoint spec — and water starts traveling downstream into your pneumatic tools, valves, and end-use processes.
Three warning signs:
1. WATER IN YOUR DRIP LEGS THAT WEREN'T WET BEFORE
If your zone drains are catching more water than they did in spring, your dryer is losing the battle.
2. PNEUMATIC TOOLS "ACTING UP" IN THE AFTERNOON
Sticky cylinders, valve faults, regulator chatter — classic signs of moisture intrusion.
3. DEWPOINT GAUGE READING ABOVE 50°F
Most refrigerated dryers are specced to 38–50°F at full load. If yours reads higher on hot days, it's undersized or failing.
