Laborer Job Description
De Groot, Inc. is a sewer/water construction contractor located in Green Bay, WI and have been in business for over 40 years. We are deemed an essential business with the majority of our workload through infrastructure contracts with Wisconsin municipalities and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. We are looking for full-time construction laborer for our sewer/water crews. We offer a consistent work schedule with minimal overnight travel. The ideal candidate will be capable of working with minimal oversight but willing to follow directions closely.
Laborer Responsibilities:
• Lift heavy loads and navigate construction job site terrain
• Operate construction vehicles
• Assist with preparation for job site construction
• Provide labor support as needed on crew
• Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job site
• Direct traffic when necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians, motorists and work crew
• Identify utility lines
• Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles
Qualifications & Skills:
• High school diploma/GED preferred – must be at least 18 years old due to the equipment used on construction sites.
• Ability to OBTAIN a Commercial Driver License (CDL) -see Licenses/Experience.
• Comfort working in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
Licenses / Experience:
• Valid standard driver’s license – clean driving record
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) -Candidate to have clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL within one year of employment if not currently holding a CDL. (Company will assist with truck/training)
