Interesting fact:

When we do a project that requires stripping of topsoil, we stockpile onsite and spread that topsoil when the job is complete. While the integrity of the foundation, road, driveway, or other project is extremely important, it’s also important to us that we preserve as many of the native natural elements as possible.

DID YOU KNOW that there is no such thing as a cement mixer?? They’re all concrete mixers. 😃

Believe it or not, concrete and cement are NOT the same. In fact, only around 10-15% of concrete is cement.

Concrete is a mixture of cement (the binder), aggregate material (sand, gravel, etc.) and water. It’s the second most widely consumed material in the world and is present in some significant history. During WW2, concrete was used to create “sound mirrors”. These “sound mirrors” helped to provide early warning of approaching aircraft and had an aural range of up to 27 miles.

Concrete, if formulated correctly, increases in strength for many years. That’s why it’s important to make sure your contractor is not only skilled in the pour and finish, but also in making sure the correct ratios of material are used.

Hi-Bar Construction has a combined experience of over 200 years. We are a family-owned company of three generations and we set the bar high, on purpose. You see, we want our business to last for many generations to come… and we want your foundation to do so also.
