History

Greenfield Research was founded in 1968 by Joseph A. Pristas in Greenfield, Ohio. We are a manufacturer of formed wire products for automotive seating used by major original equipment manufacturers such as Toyota, Honda, Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, KIA, Mercedes, Nissan, Tesla and BMW. We also produce cut and sewn products that are used by a variety of customers including automotive, mortuary and military applications. The company started with cutting and skiving foam products to ship to automotive seating suppliers. In 1970, it moved to 806 North Street, formerly known as “Spring Grove Dairy Building” and expanded into sewing operations. In the early 1970’s, the company began cutting other materials to be molded into the urethane foam of car seats to provide durability and support. We also produced camper cushions and toboggan cushions for snow sleds. In 1972, the company acquired the Pine Street building from the Ferno-Washington Company, which served as the headquarters for Research until 1992. The former “Life Squad” building on Mirabeau Street was added in 1976 to meet increased demand for the Netting Bolster Wire. These buildings are no longer held by Greenfield Research. In 1977, Greenfield Research added the former “Marine Sales” facility with its adjacent warehouses at the corner of Lyndon Avenue and Washington Street where we produced formed wires and 3-track ladder wires. The facility underwent additions in 1978, 1982, 1986, 1987, 2015 and 2016 and now houses our Wire Department. In 1986, Greenfield Research acquired land and buildings in Howe, Indiana and in 1989 the Hermann, Missouri facility was purchased. Both of these buildings have since been sold. In 1991, Greenfield Research acquired the former US Shoe building and land at 347 Edgewood Avenue which is still known locally as “The Shoe Factory”. Our headquarters were relocated to the Shoe Factory building in 1992 and remain there to the present. The Edgewood facility housed our Cut and Sew operations. In 1994, Greenfield Research purchased the former Collins Meat Packing building on South Second Street to add a warehouse facility to the operation. The “Collins Building” is still used for warehousing. In 2010, Greenfield Research acquired the former Computer Stock Forms building at 324 South Washington Street. Today, Greenfield Research occupies more than 255,000 square feet of production / warehouse space across three facilities in Greenfield, Ohio. Environmental Sustainability

Our dedication to producing the industry’s top quality products is exhibited by our year after year rejected parts per million performance, which is less than 10 RPPM annually to all customers. Our commitment to quality is further exhibited by the certifications we have received for our Quality and Environmental Management Systems. In 1999, we were certified to the QS9000 standard for Quality Management Systems. Our QMS transitioned to the TS16949 Standard and we became certified in 2006. We are currently registered to the following standard revisions:

ISO 9001:2015

IATF 16949:2016

ISO 9001 represents one of the standards developed and issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). They depict a set of management principles that aim at achieving customer satisfaction by delivering quality products and services. ISO 9001:2015 represents the latest version of the guidelines. The expression "ISO 9000" is typically interchanged with ISO 9001 to represent this family of standards. ISO 9000 was the grandfather of this methodology. ISO/TS 16949:2008 was developed by IATF (International Automotive Task Force) members and approved by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) for publication. It is an industry specific Quality Management System (QMS) catering for automotive industries. IATF 16949:2016 represents the latest version of the guidelines. Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy
