There is something about cutting a tree down from your own property.

Milling that tree into lumber.
Waiting years for it to be ready to use.
Then taking that lumber and making something beautiful!

Very excited we had the opportunity to do this, a blank slate and our own design.

I will take a house with custom trim work over these $400k plastic homes with painted MDF trim you see everywhere nowadays...

No body does custom stuff anymore, every company just wants to slap it up and move on to the next. Which unfortunately most of the time are the big names making millions of dollars a year.

*Hand crafted 200 year old black walnut mantel with a natural buffed finish
*Hand chiseled reclaimed stone stair treads for border and keystone
*Manufactured limestone
*Nickel gap tounge and groove will be installed above with custom floating shelves and accessory cabinet on the rightside wall

Last 2 pictures are how the black walnut and border stones started! Alot of work but it was well worth it!

If you have ever heard the expression a "Opening a can of worms"

This is what that would look like!
(We will be back next year to do the rest of the deck)

*2nd story deck was not flashed correctly
*House rim joist and framing had water and termite damage
*Cedar siding in total disrepair
*Completely demo and rebuild!

The remedy
*Removed and replaced all damaged house framing
*Replaced celotex sponge with Zip system
*Flashed correctly 2ft above deck
*Completely reframed and replaced deck joist, decking and railings!
