We get lots of calls about mushrooms 🍄🟫 during the summers here in the upstate of SC. Mushrooms are not a bad thing. They actually are showing life in the soil. Fungi & Microbes work together to break down dead and decaying matter in the soil essentially help provide food and life to the plants growing in it like Turf and other things. Warm temperatures, combined with humidity increases the activity of the fungi in the soil and as a by product you will see mushrooms pop up, especially when late afternoon/evening thunderstorms come around. Seeing these is just telling you that your soil is alive in those areas and that's a good thing. It's not attacking the Turf in the lawn or harming it in any way. With drier, less humid weather and regular mowing they will go away naturally. Turf fungicide products have no effect on them either, Turf disease and mushroom fugi are two different things. Mushrooms is just mother nature working her magic in your soil. Nothing at all to fear.
