The main-level master bedroom features tongue-and-groove pine and poplar beams—warm, intentional choices that elevate the space without shouting for attention. In the great room, the coffered ceiling is finished with triple crown molding, drawing the eye up and framing the room with quiet confidence.

Eight-foot doors and windows let the light in. Cultured stone wraps the fireplace, with granite grounding the mantle. And the floors? Red oak hardwood. Solid. Lasting. Real.

Even the guest house, tucked just steps away, has its own porch and thoughtful details—because nothing about this build was rushed or overlooked.

Henry appreciated the clear communication.
Dean noticed the extra two hours spent before a quote was even written.

That’s the standard. Every time.

Perched on one of the steepest lakefront lots they’d ever seen, this project was no small feat. The terrain was so sharp, they had to build a dirt platform just to get the excavator in place.

From custom trapezoidal windows framed in rough sawn cedar, to hand-laid cultured stone, every element was chosen and crafted with care.

The highlight? The soaring high-ceiling windows that brought the lakefront view into full focus.

Instead of ordering expensive custom trapezoidal units, Matt and his dad took a more hands-on, resourceful route. They framed the openings themselves, ordered insulated glass panels from a local supplier, and built the windows by hand—sealing each one with precision using rubber gaskets and fitting them into place with custom wood framing.

The result was a wall of windows that didn’t just invite in natural light—it became the visual centerpiece of the space.

And to this day, people still comment on the quality of the woodwork, the details in the stone, and the timeless feel of the home.

𝘼 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙠.
That’s all it took to turn a peaceful evening into a full-blown blaze. The culprit? A poorly installed fireplace with no fireblocking.

The result? A total teardown and months of navigating insurance, builders, and a significant language barrier.

This family didn’t just need a renovation.

They needed someone to rebuild trust, restore hope—and raise a home from the ashes.

That’s where we came in.
At WHC, we don’t just build houses. We build smarter, safer homes with intention behind every beam, every layer, every fire-resistant siding.

Because real custom homes don’t just look good—they’re designed to protect.

🛠️ If you're planning a renovation or custom build, let's talk about doing it right the first time.

Over at Teakwood, we needed a water heater installed. Not just any heater—𝐚 𝐑𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐦 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐩. Smart, energy-conscious, and perfectly suited for this custom build.

And the one who stepped in? 𝐓𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐧. Father of our founder. Master of the quiet fix. The kind of guy who doesn’t just do the work—he sets the bar.

At Wheelhouse, this is how we build: with purpose, with precision, and sometimes, with family.

𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡. 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬. 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝.

This fireplace wasn’t just installed—it was carefully integrated into an already finished home. The unit was missing, the mantle sat too low, and retrofitting the setup meant approaching the job like a surgeon: precise, thoughtful, and clean.

We raised the mantle by nearly 10 inches to meet code, making sure everything worked seamlessly with the existing brick surround. It’s the kind of work that doesn’t scream for attention—but quietly brings warmth and character to a space.

Curious how details like this come together?

𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰. 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 - 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟔 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 🏆

There’s something unforgettable about this home in Stillwater, Seneca.

Maybe it’s the curved rooflines or the full-radius archway that frames the entrance just right. Maybe it’s the blend of brick, stone, and stucco that gives it that unmistakable French Country charm. Or maybe it’s the way the layout just works—earning it both Best Floor Plan and Best of Show at the 2006 Parade of Homes.

And then there’s the window—right by the front door. A manufacturing mishap made it just a bit smaller than planned, but instead of replacing it, it earned a nickname: the Hobbit window. Quirky, unexpected, and now a favorite detail that gives the home character.

Inside, the design flows with purpose. A welcoming foyer, a cozy living space, four bedrooms, and a flex room above the garage. Every corner reflects thoughtful planning and timeless style. No wonder over 3,000 people came to see it when it first opened its doors.

Some homes win awards. Others tell stories.

From managing the whole project to installing the custom stairs and siding, they’re the hands (and brains) making it all come together.

The long plank Rustic floors? Rustic maple from Tidewater Lumber & Moulding—were installed, sanded & finished by Greenville Carpet One. Rich in texture and warmth. Here’s what makes it special—the homeowner is also the designer. Every detail was chosen with intention and brought to life, just as envisioned.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐆𝐓𝐕.

We had a tight timeline. Driveway prep had to happen yesterday, but the fill dirt? Still missing. No dirt = no pour = everything else delayed—garage door install, flooring, you name it.

So Matt picks up the phone, calls Corey over at Superscape Supply. No small talk, no long waits. Just, “Hey—we need it.” Next morning? Dirt delivered. Right spot, right time.

Same story with the pour. Summit Concrete doesn’t flinch—even after a downpour soaked the site. More bracing needed? They’re already on it. That kind of reliability doesn’t come from luck. It’s built over time, job after job.

In construction, the stuff you don’t see—the quick calls, the trust, the "we’ve got you" moments—that’s what keeps a build moving.
