New Process Fibre Company, Inc. New Process Fibre is a manufacturer of non-metallic stamped parts and extruded thermoplastic sheet We extrude our own thermoplastics. without outsourcing.

Manufacturing process under one roof - In-house Extrusion, Tooling and Stamping of non-metallic components including Plastic Stamping. New Process Fibre is a major supplier of non-metallic stamped components to many of the largest OEM companies in the world. Over the years we have produced custom non-metallic components for almost every facet of everyday living from electronic, plumbing, automotiv

e, defense, furniture and construction to name a few. We have in-house capabilities to extrude thermoplastic materials and fabricate our own hard tooling to stamp simple to very complex non-metallic components. These two important in-house capabilities give us the ability to reduce our production cycle time from receipt of order to final delivery of products when time to market is critical for our customers. About Us

Back in 1927 our business was founded on a desire to improve a manufacturing process. The products and the processes have both changed in the years since, but the desire for constant improvement has never varied. Innovative Roots >
The original company name was coined by founder F. Carl Porter, who developed a new, lower cost process for turning cotton paper into vulcanized fibre. This focus expanded under the guidance of his son-in-law Henry Peters to include improvements in every part of the process of creating non-metallic stampings. Solid Growth >
Today, the tradition continues in an uncommon dedication to in-house manufacturing capability. The reason behind it is simple: if we perform every step ourselves, we can be sure it was performed at the highest standard. An in-house tool room with wire EDM capability allows us to create our own tooling. An extensive inventory of production equipment makes it possible to complete virtually any job. from a small prototype run to an order in the millions. The third generation descendents of F. Carl Porter still run New Process. They make sure the same dedication to improving products, maximizing quality and maintaining cost effectiveness is still at the company's heart.

All driving restrictions in the State of Delaware lifted as of about 7:30 am Tuesday, February 24.

Driving restrictions lifted statewide effective immediately.

Delaware Governor Meyer has lifted all driving restrictions statewide effective immediately. There are no driving warnings or restrictions in Delaware at this time. Motorists are strongly urged to exercise caution as roadways may still have patches of ice and snow or may experience downed trees in some areas. Drivers should remain vigilant for black ice and proceed with caution when travelling over bridges that tend to freeze.

New Process Fibre Company, Inc. is closed today, Monday, February 23rd. We will attempt to reopen tomorrow morning Tuesday, February 24th at 7:00 a.m. This is, of course, dependent on the governor lifting the driving restrictions. As of now the level three driving restrictions are still in place.

The 4:00 p.m. shift today should not report nor should the 4:00 a.m. shift report at 4:00 a.m. in the morning. The 4:00 a.m. shift can report it 7:00 a.m. with the rest of the plant.

Depending on conditions we may be under relaxed attendance tomorrow but that is yet to be decided.

Main roads seem to be fairly clear. There are still trees down in many places and many people still don't have power and we are aware of that.

Mainly, everyone stay safe and we will err on the side of caution as is said, safety is job one.

New Process Fibre Company, Inc. will be closed on Monday, February 23 due to the weather and the fact there is now a Level 3 Driving Ban in place.

No person shall operate a motor vehicle on Delaware roadways when a Level 3 Driving Ban has been activated except for those designated as first responders, first informers, and essential personnel, including public utilities as defined in § 102(2) of Title 26 and operators of public and private snow removal equipment.

Governor Matthew Meyer has issued a Statewide Level 3 Driving Ban for Kent and Sussex counties beginning at 10 p.m. This state-mandated Driving Ban will remain in place to keep emergency responders and other essential motorists safe by minimizing nonessential travel during severe weather and perilous road conditions.

Note that the State of Delaware - Government is lifting the Level 2 driving restrictions at 10 am, downgrading them to a Level 1. This means you can drive, legally, but be cautious and careful.

New Process is running a skeleton shift today and we will be closing early, either 3 pm or 4 pm to allow the people who came in to get home before it gets too much colder and dark.

New Process Fibre will be open on Monday morning, January 26, starting with the 7 am shift for those who can make it in.

If you are part of the 4 am shift, you should come in at 7 am if you can make it in. The midnight shift is cancelled.

We understand that road conditions will vary across Sussex County and ask that you use your judgement in deciding whether or not to come in.

At this time, Kent County is under Level 2 driving restrictions which means that you shouldn’t be on the road in Kent County without a waiver to allow you to be. Level 2 has been in effect since 10 am on Sunday and, as best I know, is still in effect. We don’t expect anyone to violate the law to get to work.

For those in Sussex, you can use your own judgment. Sussex is under Level 1 restriction which basically means you can be on the road but be careful.

We will be on relaxed attendance so no attendance points will be assessed today to anyone for being late or absent.

If you aren't going to make it in, please leave a message on the callout extension letting us know and also designating if you'd to use vacation or other paid time for your absence.

If you do come in, please be careful on the roads. I just got back from driving up to Greenwood. The lot has been plowed, and the entrances should be shoveled out, mostly. I found water on the road to be the worst problem on 13 as the plowed road was acting as a channel for the rain and melted snow leaving fairly deep standing water in some spots, especially in the left lane. It will be 25° in the morning so there will be ice. Again, please use your discretion and drive carefully.

And, finally, be safe, use your judgement and we appreciate all of you... thank you!
