Water leaks to the inside, major ice dam in the gutters. This is the importance of ice and watershield at the eaves. The state of Indiana unfortunately does not require ice and water at the eaves though every manufacturer "highly recommends ice and water if there is a possibility of ice dams".

With that most contractors don't educate the homeowners of what ice and water is or does. If this roof would have had it. No leaks would have occurred. At the time of install it would have cost couple hundred dollars for the entire home. Now it's gonna cost several thousand, or just end up doing a new roof plus around another 1000 for interior damages.

Don't be a victim to a fly by company that looks at your home as just a quick buck. Don't be a victim to an insurance company that takes advantage of you. Call a contractor that truly cares and is there to ensure you make an educated decision on what you want and what you don't want to pay for in the future if you don't. We have had a whole lot of calls in past week for this exact issue.

Well was a productive day today.

We re-did plumbing in house today and then went and finished off some trim this evening. 14 hr day but certainly got a lot done.

Tomorrow we will finish all the rough in plumbing and straps and start tearing out the hardwood flooring since a water shut off valve failed. Water was running for at least six hrs or better and no one knew because it's a new vacation home that's completely under construction and no one lives there.

Homeowners come in and did some demo work Sunday afternoon and it wasn't leaking when they left. We showed up Tuesday afternoon to start doing some plans got soaked as we walked in the door.

Always something, but we don't panic.
