Will we ever get over this session? Absolutely not.
But honestly… who could ever get tired of seeing tiny kittens hanging out with baseball players? 🥹⚾️🐾

This shoot has officially become one of our favorite things we’ve ever created. Between the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars , the sweetest rescue kittens from the Humane Society of Washington County , and the amount of serotonin these photos hold… we’re unwell in the best way.

Motherhood changes so much over the years. Tiny hands become taller than you. Bedtime stories become late night phone calls. And somewhere in between, moms end up behind the camera instead of in front of it.

To stop shrinking herself until the “perfect” moment arrived.
To trust that who she already was… was worthy of being seen.

The tiny hands that reach for yours. The sleepy cuddles. The giggles filling your home before they slowly grow older and quieter. Right now, it may feel like these moments will last forever… until one day you realize how quickly they changed.

One day, the toys won’t cover the floor anymore. They won’t ask to be carried. Their little voices will sound different. And the moments that feel ordinary today will become the ones you wish you could hold onto just a little longer.

Cats out of the bag! The story of our Baseballs & Tiny Paws calendar got picked up by USA TODAY! 🐾⚾️

This project started as one of those “this would be really cool if it worked” ideas… and somehow turned into something way bigger than we imagined. Tiny shelter animals. Baseball players. A full calendar built around connection, personality, and giving these animals a different kind of spotlight.

We partnered with the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars and the Humane Society of Washington County to bring it to life, and we had the best shooting day together.

The response so far has been unreal. Before the calendar has even officially launched, the videos have taken off and people all over the world are already invested in these animals and their stories. That’s the whole point.
This only happened because of the people behind it:

The Audrey Rouzer Portraits/ Aloft Studio team — our assistants Ashley Mummert, Bella Buchman, and Lindsey Smith from Threefold Branding Co. who kept everything moving, handled animals, captured BTS, and somehow kept us on schedule.

Every ICON session we ask our ladies to describe the moment they saw their images for the first time... each answer is unique yet moving in a similar way, but Jessica's? This is what we hope each and every ICON feels when they experience their reveal.
