We were blessed with beautiful fall weather the last few days here in WNY and used it to push hard on all of our projects.

Our large-scale Orchard Park addition is drywalled and painted, with cabinets being delivered this week by Amish Kitchen Gallery . Other site progress includes stonework on the porch and siding almost complete as well. Expect lots more from this site in the coming weeks as we round 3rd and head for home base.

Helical piers went in at the Elmwood Village Rooted Space Interiors collab while framing is being wrapped up as we prep for the roof to get installed next week.

Concrete was poured in the basement at Amherst. This marks a big milestone in what proved to be a challenging basement space, with unexpected bedrock being discovered during excavation that we blasted through to create the desired height downstairs for our client.

Last but not least, we continue to press forward on our future HQ downtown.

Concealed shoes are historical footwear deliberately hidden within the walls, chimneys, floorboards, or roofs of buildings.

Many historians and folklore researchers believe the shoes served as protective talismans to ward off witches, demons, and evil spirits. Because shoes mold to the shape of the wearer’s foot, people thought the footwear retained a part of the owner’s “essence” to trick or trap unwanted entities.

So… we should put it back?

We had the honor of hosting some students from SUNY Erie Community College ‘s construction management program at our mixed use development site downtown this week. We discussed what went into renovating the building and answered lots of thoughtful questions. Always great to connect with the next generation of builders, and a video from the day will be live soon!
