Genesis Drug Discovery and Development (GD3), a member of the Genesis Biotechnology Group is a contract research organization focused on providing services to support drug discovery programs from early target identification and chemistry through preclinical development and ultimately clinical support through Phase IV clinical trials. GD3’s platforms cover a wide range of therapeutic areas including: oncology, ophthalmology, inflammation/autoimmunity, metabolic diseases, and microbiome.

We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer to drive continuing efficiency, continuity, fiscal performance, growth, and related strategies for the portfolio of services.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic leadership team and will play a critical role in identifying areas of growth, aligning our preclinical offerings with the current trends in drug discovery and development, and driving initiatives to meet growth and profitability targets. The candidate will assess risk management, foster cross collaboration across all GD3 companies and individuals, address client concerns, and provide guidance and mentorship to operational teams.

Responsibilities:
• Present, report, communicate challenges, collaborate on strategic discussions, and related duties with the CEO and the rest of the leadership team.
• Collaborate with the GD3 member CRO’s senior leadership in order to execute corporate policies, initiatives, and strategic plans.
• Responsible for harmonization of operational processes, policies, and procedures between GD3 companies where it makes sense to do so. Including but not limited to:
1. SOPs (operational policies and procedures)
2. Quality: FDA, OECD, USDA, AAALAC, GLP compliance, and Quality Assurance Unit(s)
3. Report generation and design with respect to client deliverables (i.e. making reports look and feel the same between companies)
4. Standardization and facilitation of headcount and capital expense requests
5. Standardization and implementation of operational metrics
• Direct site leads of GD3 companies with other general operational oversight as appropriate
• Guide decisions involving price structure and price negotiations
• Contribute to developing and implementing the marketing and sales strategy (e.g., brochures, company presentations, website improvement)
• Collaborate with CSO(s) in evaluating, justifying, and implementation of added scientific services
• Direct the strategy, vetting, and analysis of potential M&A targets
• Onboarding and harmonization of processes for acquired companies
• Actively participate at professional meetings and conventions as appropriate

Requirements:
• BS degree in a science-related field with working knowledge and experience within the CRO industry. An advanced degree in organic chemistry/immunology/pharmacology/toxicology and/or business is strongly preferred
• Experience in business development related to pre-clinical contract research is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently within an international matrix with business, scientific, and other professionals
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, good judgment, and ability to communicate with a diverse range of professionals from the Drug Discovery and Development community
• Ability to recognize the needs of the customer and collaborate with scientific management to develop and implement needed services
• Travel required (25%)

Genesis Biotechnology Group is hiring for an Administrative Assistant in Hamilton, NJ to support the Creative Services Department and Chief Marketing Officer and provide administrative assistance. To coordinate the release of new items of collateral and oversee all aspects of exhibit booth and conference logistics. A key function of this position will be to provide feedback and onsite support to the Chief Marketing Officer on offsite days.

Essential Functions:
1. Contribute and develop original ideas while working on new projects.
2. Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, in written correspondence, and in-person interactions.
3. Work with all Marketing Content Managers, Coordinators, and Managers to organize, schedule and coordinate requests for support from Core Services (Photography, videography, etc.).
4. Provide feedback regarding the performance of the Creative Services Department, particularly on but not limited to, days the CMO is offsite.
5. Undertake daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities.
6. Conduct research to support developing marketing initiatives and product research and create Matrices of results/options.
7. Review and approve time cards in ADP
8. Create report, organize receipts, and submit to Accounting for monthly expense report
9. Create and maintain files for all equipment, warranty information, and coordinate repairs and scheduled outside maintenance requests for equipment.
10. Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies including specialty paper, envelopes, printer toner, etc.
11. Maintain receipts of all courier pickups for items sent to the warehouse.
12. Place orders for all approved requests for promotional items, digital and print ads.
13. Create and maintain Marketing Collateral Guides as needed.
14. Assist the CMO with Tradeshow Management activities including:
- Complete the registration process for all approved exhibit booths
- Complete all arrangements with the event venue or designated vendors pertaining to booth logistics, services such as electric, furniture and carpet rental, material handling, lead retrieval unit rental, etc.
- Communicate with Booth Personnel and Project Manager for the appropriate line of business to ensure booth display and collateral needs are addressed for the specific meeting.
- Pack all collateral, promotional items, booth supplies, displays, etc., and prepare for pick-up by the logistics company.
- Maintain conference files and receive booth leads and follow-up reports from onsite booth staff.
15. Assist in the review and development of SOP’s and training protocols as needed
16. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Well-developed ability to multi-task and prioritize, strong organizational skills, and detail orientation are of the highest importance.
• Must be able to fulfill several project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• High level of initiative, resourcefulness, and ability to work autonomously.
• Confirmed ability to establish, maintain, and retain loyal relationships with internal MDL staff as well as outside clients and vendors.
• Energy, motivation, enthusiasm, and integrity.
• Must be a quick learner and thinker and able to complete tasks in a timely fashion.
• Must demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making ability.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making ability.

Job Qualifications:
• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Eight college students spent their summer as interns in various departments within GBG. The interns participated in a well-structured program that was designed to focus on learning and developing new skills through hands-on experiences. The interns received orientation and training from their individual supervisors, as well as from members of the human resources team.

Congratulations to Nicholas Kern, Daniella Barnaby, Kenneth Lim, Abigail Guenther, Sarah Schaefer, Joseph Dobles, Courtney Silaloski, and Samar Patel on completing the requirements of the Internship Program.
