I had the pleasure today to have an in depth conversation with two incredibly knowledgeable and helpful people regarding the VA Home Loan Program. Ms. Lauren Elizabeth Schindler and Ms. Jenna Whitmer are Realtors and Mortgage Brokers respectively in the Hammond La. Area.

Together they hosted a luncheon at the Hammond Chamber of Commerce to share info and facts about the acquisition and utilization of the "VA Home Loan Program" In itself, that presentation would have been invaluable information to AVR and myself personally. But, where these ladies went above and beyond is they both invested over an hour of their time to speak to me and answer my questions regarding the "VA Home Construction Program".

If you have been following AVR you will see that we are deeply vested into making leeway with lenders and the VA to encourage the use of the little known VA Home Construction Program that perfectly suits our mission model. Although this particular loan program was not the focus of their presentation today, they both shared a great deal of time and attention to the needs of AVR.

We hope to be working with people like this in the very near future and I cannot overstate the importance of having people like Lauren and Jenna in our corner.

American Veterans Rebuilding will be recording a new episode of the SFC Podcast on the evening of Friday, April 10th. Our next podcast guest is Brooke Dees. Brooke is a Senior at Southeastern Louisiana University studying creative writing, and working in the Office of Military and Veterans Success ensuring attending veterans are maximizing their earned benefits. Brooke is also a 25U, Signal Operation Specialist, in the National Guard, drilling out of Jackson Barracks in New Orleans.

Please join us this Friday as we discuss many of the same topics the other "self" interviews have explored from a very different perspective of a new generation of warfighter. Id like to take a second to thank Ms. Maria Juarez and Mr. Allyn Medeiros of Union Home Mortgage out of Bakersfield California today for their time, consideration and input in a very productive and promising conversation today. American Veterans Rebuilding Executive Vice President Sergio Rubio has been shaking babies and kissing the right hands out on the west coast and his efforts continue to be rewarding to AVR. I'd like to thank him for his focus and for keeping me moving forward. More good things to come.

I am grateful today for the opportunity to work with the Southeastern Louisiana University Office of Military and Veteran Success.

This is a position that I wanted when deciding to complete my higher education and I am honored to have the ability to continue to help veterans and service members by any means necessary.

The staff in the SELU OMVS office are some of the most knowledgeable and helpful people I have ever met, and have provided me with a path to a degree that works with my resources and lifestyle.

American Veterans Rebuilding is holding it's first annual Board of Directors meeting this Saturday, January 31st, at 9pm CST.

Please join us as we kick off 2026. This is an important meeting as we will be running for and electing our chairs for the Board of Directors. Your vote and opinions will help shape our future.

From there we will provide the outlook for 2026 as well as all of the updates from the last few months.

I want to send my best wishes to all those attending the 1/1 AD Ready First Ramadi Reunion. 20 years has gone by in the blink of an eye, but I still remember you all like it was yesterday. Godspeed to the brothers and sisters who fought a war beside me and made sure that I made it home to live my life today.

Since several members of the American Veterans Rebuilding community will be attending this reunion, we have rescheduled our AVR monthly Board Meeting to a later date this month. In the meantime, travel safe, drink, reminisce, be merry and give all my love to the 1-6.
