There's something full-circle about seeing a U.S. Navy submarine Captain standing in front of our mural.

Someone who has spent time aboard the very vessels our skilled tradespeople help build. Someone who understands firsthand what it means to depend on the craftsmanship, precision, and quality of the people behind the build while deployed at sea.

This mural was created to honor those people. The fitters, welders, painters, and countless others whose work supports our nation's defense, often without ever being seen by the people who depend on it.

Seeing someone who knows that responsibility firsthand standing in front of their tribute makes this mural even more meaningful.

Thank you to the men and women of the U.S. Navy for your commitment to protecting our nation. It is an honor to play a part in supporting your mission.

From the first conversation and initial design to production, quality, and final delivery, every project takes a team of talented people working together. Every department, every role, and every contribution matters.

This month, we’re celebrating the people behind the build and the teamwork, dedication, and expertise that keep American manufacturing moving forward.

Yesterday was the first National Fitter’s Day, and we couldn’t let the day go by without making sure our own fitters felt celebrated.

We put together a few gifts for each of them, including a shirt, card, sticker and tape measure. Nothing fancy, just a little something to remind them that the work they do matters and doesn’t go unnoticed.

Here are a few of our day shift fitters with their gifts!

National Fitter’s Day may be over, but the recognition shouldn’t be. We hope this is just the beginning of more people learning what fitters do and recognizing the skilled hands behind the things we depend on every day.

Today is National Fitter’s Day.

A day created right here at Riggins to recognize a trade that has been building the world around us for generations, often without most people even knowing its name.

Fitters are behind the ships, structures, piping, machinery and equipment we depend on every day. They read the drawings, solve the problems, measure, position, align and make the pieces fit.

At Riggins, we get to see that skill every day. It’s why National Fitter’s Day started here, and why we’re so proud to see it grow beyond our walls.

Today, we celebrate our fitters and fitters everywhere.

Happy National Fitter’s Day.
