Peninsula Engineers Council Celebrating Virginia Engineering - Past, Present, and Future

The Peninsula Engineers Council (PEC) Sixteen societies co-signed the original constitution.

The Council, was begun in 1970 by Douglas Ensor of the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers to bring the larger engineering community of the Peninsula into the recognition of National Engineers Week. The early PEC was an inter-society committee which rotated responsibility for the annual Peninsula Engineer of the Year Award Banquet among themselves. In 1988 a Constitution and By-Laws was dev

eloped to formally organize the PEC. This allowed for the creation of standing committees that could develop and implement long range plans and maintain year-to-year continuity of expanded programs.
