Celebrating 20 years of ADC’s Columbia office! 🎉

Ah, the Columbia office. Three fish tanks. 28 photos of Rick Astley. Pets roaming everywhere, chili cook-offs, co****le, bowling competitions. And I think everyone has a mustache, maybe?

This team sure knows how to keep things fun and keep the marketing department on their toes. We are forever receiving photos, requests, and projects to post and plan.

And honestly, we’re here for it. We are incredibly grateful for our Columbia team, their energy, passion, and dedication. Coming soon, the Horry-Georgetown Technical College’s Georgetown Campus will be able to provide hands-on marine technology education! 🚢

In partnership with CROFT Architecture and Engineering and Monteith Construction, ADC is providing civil and landscape architecture services that will help create space for new courses centered around boats, engines, and marine technology. Uniquely featuring garage-style doors that open directly into training areas, students will be able to bring boats and trailers into the building for that real life experience.

ADC’s civil design also includes ample parking areas, grading, pavements, stormwater ponds and piping, and utilities. Green design choices such as permeable pavers were selected to promote on-site stormwater infiltration and reduce runoff.

River Dogs 10 – Hill City 7!!!

Behind every smooth takeoff and landing is a team of engineers focused on every detail. This , let’s take a closer look at the Remaining Over Night Apron Expansion at Charleston International Airport.

Currently under construction, ADC designed a new aircraft apron east of Taxiway Alpha to maximize available aircraft parking space. With limited land available and tightly controlled airfield restrictions, the design team needed to get creative. Once up and running, this addition will provide flexibility when aircraft arrive late, require maintenance, or need temporary overnight parking.

The team also designed grading and stormwater drainage solutions to manage heavy rain events. Airfield lighting is also included as part of the overall project scope.

As the Lowcountry’s population continues to grow, this expansion will help Charleston International Airport meet increasing demand without causing any disruptions to traffic flow.
