If you have had a solar system installed by Standard ECO Solar, I am offering a complimentary inspection and system overview. Recently, a client who had a system installed by Standard ECO in 2019 contacted me. The issue was a warranty-related optimizer replacement. Standard ECO had ceased communication with the client and refused to honor the warranty, even though it was still valid.

While I typically refrain from speaking negatively about other companies, I feel obligated to address this matter for the safety and protection of customers who have used Standard ECO. Upon inspecting the system, I discovered several critical issues: incorrect installation, improper wiring causing the system to function at only 65-70% of its capacity, and overloaded optimizers posing a potential fire hazard. Additionally, the conduit was inadequately mounted that could cause wires to end up sparking and destroying things, the combiner box was filled with water, and there were unsealed holes in the roof.

Given these findings, I urge anyone who has had a solar system installed by Standard ECO to contact me for a free inspection. This could potentially prevent damage to your home and save you a significant amount of money. Please see the attached images of the system, which highlight the issues mentioned above. The captions provide further details.

The pictures will be numbered with a page having the relevant description. #1 is a minor issue of having no end caps. Just helps show quality when all the small details were skipped. #15 you can barely see the water due to the fact that I emptied most of the water since it was starting to come in contact with the connectors. All of the conduit mounts in #11, #12 and #14 were added by me. The only ones added by them are in #2, the one that the conduit missed and #10. The issue of the wiring being install incorrectly would have been too hard to show in a picture, so that issue won’t be covered in the pictures.

The poor workmanship of large solar companies like Standard ECO damages the reputation of the solar industry and negatively impacts smaller, reputable installers. By exposing these practices, we can demonstrate that reliable and customer-focused solar companies do exist. Thank you for your time and consideration. Have a Blessed day!

My Name is Chandler Grave. I own and operate CG solar CO. I’m born and raised in Quincy, IL. I went into the Army as an avionics mechanic/aircraft electrician. I’ve always had a love for electricity and electronics. The army was my first real introduction into the electric world. I went on one deployment while serving. While serving I started seeing solar panels and I started doing research into the field. After learning of the benefits Solar would have on the world, This sparked my dream of owning a solar company one day. I wanted to evolve my duty from protecting the country into protecting our earth. Once exiting the military, I worked in the solar field for awhile. Then after getting my installation credits for the NABCEP, I decided to go after my academic credits. I enrolled at Bryan University out of Springfield, MO in their solar program. I graduated as co-valedictorian of my class. While living in Omaha, NE I ran a joint operation with a well known solar company of the area for 3 years in which I successfully managed and oversaw over 150 installations. Once news broke of my wife and I expecting our first child, We decided to move back home. In which I restarted my solar business in this area. Once becoming a father to a new baby girl named Jillian. A new dream has become a goal of mine, Building this business as to where I can pass it down for generations. Something that my family can be proud of for years to come by helping out the earth and also helping individuals save money by them producing their own power.
