The houses and buildings are important—but the people are everything.

Friday night, we had the opportunity to step away from the job sites, plans, emails, and schedules and spend some time together at the Shorebirds game with the Blue Hen Construction and Eastern Shore Pole Buildings families.

Seeing all the kids running around, employees relaxing, and families enjoying a summer evening was a great reminder of why we do what we do. Fun time was had by all, just as long as Sherman the Shorebird kept his distance from Willow Simpson - "I don't like that bird" was mentioned many times 😂

We're thankful every day for the incredible people who make our companies successful and for the families who support them behind the scenes.What a great night, and a great group of people to share it with. ⚾️❤️

Every great home starts with a strong foundation... and every great builder relies on great partners. 🏡

Today some of our team members(Kain Johnson, Tori Handlin, Rachel Robb, and Andrea Walls) had the opportunity to celebrate Contractor Appreciation Week with our friends at 84 Lumber. From the framing lumber you never see to the windows, doors, and trim that bring a home to life, they play an important role in our projects every day.

A huge thank you to Chris Baker and the entire 84 Lumber team for their partnership, support, and dedication to helping us build quality homes throughout Delaware.

At our trades walk, you’re not just watching — you’re making decisions. 💡

This is the stage where homeowners meet with our electrician, HVAC, and plumbing teams to choose exactly where everything goes before installation begins.

After the walk, Brooke takes all of your selections and creates a detailed “trades plan” for final approval — mapping out lighting, special outlets, thermostats, hose bibs, gas lines and more so every detail is exactly how you want it.

It’s one of the most important (and exciting) steps in the building process because this is where your house really starts to become your home. 🏡

Memorial Day weekend hits a little different when you’re spending it in a brand new beach house ☀️🇺🇸

This one is officially wrapped up and ready for summer. Between the screened porches, open living spaces, and views from every level… we can already picture the coffee mornings, crab feasts, and years of family memories being made here. 🏡

One thing we always talk about when designing a home is making sure you have the space your family needs now and in the years ahead. Finishes and styles can always be updated over time — but the right square footage is what helps a home truly grow with you.

This home was built for gatherings, guests, growing families, and long beach weekends for years to come. 🌊

Big congratulations to Rachel 🎓🤍

This past Saturday, Rachel graduated from Penn State with a degree in Business Administration, Management & Marketing 👏

And lucky for us… she’s not going far! Rachel has officially accepted a full-time position here at Blue Hen Construction after interning with us, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her continue growing with our team. 🏡

Her hard work, positive attitude, and willingness to jump in wherever needed has already made such an impact around here, and we know this is just the beginning.

Help us congratulate Rachel on this huge accomplishment and exciting new chapter! 🎉💙
