After seeing the forecast and talking to many customers today there is a few things we want you to know.
Most homes built here in southern Illinois are built on what is referred to as the 90°-20° scale due to standard insulation practices of our area. This means when the temps are above 90° your air conditioning will run a majority of the time of the day and night. When the temps get below 20° your furnace will run a majority of the time of the day and night. So do not panic if your system seems to run all day and night or if it slips a few degrees during extreme temperatures.
If you are using space heaters
DO NOT USE A EXTENSION CORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you use a fireplace gas /wood or a gas wall heater make for sure your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector have new batteries and are in good working order.
Make for sure your air filters are clean. A dirty air filter can cause your furnace to run less efficient and also cause mechanical issues with your system. Which could lead to problems with your system.
If your system does stop working through extreme conditions and you have to call out a technician.
Remember to be kind to the technicians. Be patient because there could be numerous people who have no heat.
Technicians are getting out in temperatures that sometimes are dangerous, sometimes driving on dangerous roads and putting their personal well being on the line to make for sure you and your family are takin care of.

Today our CEO students had the opportunity to tour Biggs & Moore Heating and Air Conditioning with Andy Biggerstaff, and the lessons went far beyond the technical side of business.

Andy encouraged students to become key employees by learning everything they can, approaching every opportunity with a servant’s attitude, and never letting anyone define their worth — you are somebody.

He challenged us to look beyond the surface, get to the core, and truly understand people. One of the biggest takeaways was the importance of strong business relationships. Success isn’t just about what you know, but how you treat people and the relationships you build along the way.

Therefore, do not be alarmed if your system appears to run continuously or if the temperature fluctuates slightly during extreme weather conditions. Ensure that your air filters are clean, as a dirty filter can compromise the efficiency of your furnace and potentially cause mechanical issues with your system, leading to problems. In the event that your system ceases to function during extreme conditions and you need to schedule a technician visit, please be courteous to the technicians. Exercise patience, as they may be attending to numerous clients without air conditioning.
