Congratulations to Branford Public Schools and the Town of Branford, CT on reaching an important milestone for the future of Mary T. Murphy and Mary R. Tisko Elementary Schools.

The Representative Town Meeting has voted unanimously to appropriate $196 million to renovate and expand both schools, following unanimous support from the Board of Finance and Board of Education.

Since May, CSG has worked alongside Branford’s Town and school leaders to advance the planning needed for two state grant applications on a highly compressed schedule. The effort has included educational specifications, consultant procurement, demographic analysis, stakeholder communications, and extensive early due diligence.

This milestone reflects the extraordinary collaboration, transparency, and shared accountability demonstrated throughout the process. We congratulate Chief Operating Officer Blaize Levitan, Superintendent Dr. Christopher Tranberg, and everyone who helped move this effort forward.

CSG is grateful for Branford’s trust and partnership, and we look forward to supporting the next steps toward the October grant application deadline.

A memorable first day in a brand-new school! Today, Norwich Public Schools welcomed students back for the 2026–2027 school year at John B. Stanton Elementary School, including one lucky student who made an unforgettable entrance aboard a Norwich fire truck.

Opening Stanton on schedule marks an important milestone for the Rose City’s school construction program. It is the first of four elementary schools and one middle school being built across the district.

Congratulations to the School Building Committee, NPS, Downes Construction, DRA Architects, and the entire project team whose collaboration made today possible. We look forward to celebrating again at the official ribbon cutting on September 13!

The countdown is on! The new school year begins for Norwich Public School students on September 3rd, and a brand-new Stanton Elementary School will open its doors for the first time.

Senior Project Manager Mike Faenza represented CSG Sunday at the Back to School Bash, a free community event, held at Kelly Middle School. CSG connected with community members, vendors, and partners supporting the district, while students and families enjoyed food trucks, face painting, and giveaways including free backpacks and supplies.

CT State Representatives Larry Pemberton and Derell Wilson, along with Enock Petit-Homme, Norwich Free Academy’s Family and Community Liaison, visited Mike at the CSG table.

As Owner’s Project Manager for the Norwich Public Schools Construction Program, CSG is overseeing the construction of six schools throughout the City, including Stanton.

CSG is honored to help provide school facilities that are safe, modern, sustainable, and welcoming for all. We wish everyone a joyful start to the 2026-2027 school year!

Some partnerships grow one project at a time.

Since 2017, CSG’s relationship with the City of Norwalk has grown to include projects across ten public schools, along with community spaces and public facilities. From major investments in educational facilities to improvements at the Maritime Aquarium and community recreation facilities, we’re proud to support projects making a lasting impact throughout the city.

Highcrest Elementary School is preparing for its next chapter.

A Pre-K–4 school will be constructed on the nearby Town-owned Kycia Farm property, separate from the current building that has served Wethersfield students since 1969.

The property has deep roots in the community. Beginning in 1913, the Kycia family operated the land as a working farm for more than a century before it was acquired by the Town in 2018.

Once the Kycia Farm school opens, the existing Highcrest building will provide swing space during the upcoming renovate-as-new projects at Webb and Charles Wright Elementary Schools.

The project is advancing through design development and estimate reconciliation, with construction anticipated to begin in spring 2027 and completion targeted for the start of the 2028–2029 school year.

Extreme heat on Friday didn’t stop CSG from attending a tour of the new Norwalk High School. We were proud to walk with State Senator Bob Duff, State Representative Kadeem Roberts, Norwalk Mayor Barbara Smyth, and Building and Facilities Manager Alan Lo for a sneak peek at the new facility.

The new Norwalk High School consolidates two high schools into one 328,000-square-foot campus, bringing a comprehensive high school and P-TECH program together under one roof to serve approximately 2,000 students.

CSG’s partnership with the City of Norwalk began in 2017 and has grown into one of our most comprehensive municipal programs. Working alongside the City and Board of Education, CSG has supported projects at ten schools across the district, helping guide more than $400 million in new construction, renovations, and facility improvements as part of Norwalk’s long-term capital program.

We’re proud to be part of the work shaping the future of education in Norwalk—and even prouder to see this project nearing the finish line.

Many thanks to Business Development Manager Bob Labanara of Gilbane Building for not only the photographs, but also his leadership on this project.

CSG is proud to share the finished results from the second and final phase of renovations at John Wallace Middle School in Newington.

The construction phase, led by Assistant Project Manager Henry Boers, was completed in partnership with Newfield Construction to update learning spaces across Wings 3, 4, and 6 of the school. This phase included renovations to 29 classrooms serving grades 6, 7, and 8, creating fully enclosed learning environments with enhanced acoustics and upgraded security features that support both students and staff.

Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this important project to completion.

A meaningful construction tradition, the ceremonial beam signing gives members of the project team, building committee, school district, and community the opportunity to leave their signatures and well wishes on a structural beam before it is lifted into place. The gesture recognizes the people behind the project and marks an important construction milestone.

On Tuesday, that tradition took place at the new Greeneville Elementary School, a project that represents far more than a new building. Since the original school closed in 2010, the surrounding community has waited years to see a new school become a reality. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate another step toward that goal.

Thank you to our construction management partner, Downes Construction, for organizing this special event.

As Owner’s Project Manager for the City of Norwich’s School Construction Program, CSG is proud to support the delivery of projects that will serve students, families, and the community for generations to come.
