Sherman School celebrated a major milestone last week! The final steel beam was raised, officially topping off the new addition. With the building’s framework now complete, this achievement reflects the hard work and collaboration of everyone involved.

We’re grateful to the entire project team and to everyone whose involvement made this day so memorable. Moments like these are a chance to pause, celebrate progress, and look ahead to the lasting impact this project will have on the community!

Last week, Newfield had the pleasure of hosting Mayor Sanchez at the nearly completed Holmes Elementary School in New Britain! Site improvements will continue throughout the spring as we prepare the school for staff move in this summer and student arrival this September. We are proud to support the New Britain community by creating a dynamic space where students can grow, learn, and thrive.

Progress is underway at Wish Elementary School in Hartford, CT! Foundations are now complete, and underground work has begun in preparation for steel mobilization this April.
This project will create a welcoming and engaging learning environment for students and educators in the Hartford community. Looking forward to seeing the structure start to rise in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates to come!

We’re thrilled to support Oliver Stoprya’s Eagle Scout project with Troup 441 at Hungerford Park in Berlin, CT.

Newfield Construction was happy to provide supplies for garden beds with cold frames, which will be used to teach young students about gardening, sustainability, and the science behind how cold frames work.

Projects like this strengthen our community, promote education, and inspire the next generation of leaders. We were truly delighted to be part of this meaningful effort!

Great progress at the Norwalk Community Recreation Center project!

Final finishes in the gymnasium addition and existing building renovation are underway.

These exciting new spaces are coming together and will include a STEAM Room, Movie Room, Computer Lab, Music Room and Recording Studio, Art Room, E-Sports Room, and a refreshed YMCA and fitness center.

We were also pleased to welcome Mayor Barbara Smyth, Senator Bob Duff and other City of Norwalk officials to the site to see the progress firsthand.

It’s been over a month since we shared the groundbreaking of the new Sherman School, and we’re pleased to highlight the steady progression of this project.

Crews have been making strong progress on underslab utility infrastructure and CMU partition walls throughout the interior renovation spaces. Excavation and rock removal continue as teams form and tie rebar for foundations and footings at the West classroom addition. Winter conditions won’t slow this team down!

We’re excited to share a glimpse of the progress on the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s new District 1 Headquarters, Material Testing Lab, Signal Lab, and Sign Shop Facility! Mass excavation and site utility work are continuing. Foundation excavation and concrete foundation work have begun, and we are preparing for our first concrete placement this week. We are eager to see this one come together, stay tuned for more updates before the final result!

As we begin 2026, we wanted to take a moment to look back on how grateful we are for the opportunity to work with the ACE Mentorship Program in New Britain, CT, alongside Kaestle Boos Associates and such an eager group of students.

This marks our second year collaborating with ACE, a nationwide program that introduces students to architecture, construction, and engineering, and it’s been a great experience all over again.

We’re thankful to be part of this journey and look forward to continuing the collaboration in the years ahead!
