The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor has overall responsibility for the smooth workflow of production activities on a designated shift and across shifts as required. Supervise a number of employees engaged in production activities, ensuring that quality standards and production schedule are met.
Your Role and Responsibilities
You will use your leadership abilities to contribute to driving safety, productivity, and exceptional quality in our Peru, IN production facility.
You will drive the application of work processes and standards to ensure high product quality and productivity.
You will perform root cause analysis of production issues and obtain corrective actions utilizing the appropriate support staff.
Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will prioritize team workload and drive continuous improvement.
Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, training and developing subordinates, delegating work assignments, writing and conducting performance appraisals, coaching and counseling employees, administering disciplinary procedures and managing time and attendance.
You will serve as a backup for other supervisors when absent.
You will promote team building and an open, collaborative team environment.
What is Required for the Role
4-year Technical/Engineering College Degree (or a minimum of 5 years of operational experience in a related field or manufacturing environment).
Demonstrated successful operational experience with floor manufacturing facilities, including:
Demand Flow Technology (DFT) experience
Flow manufacturing experience
Experience in personnel management
Solid scheduling experience
Understanding and knowledge of OSHA safety standards
Other
ISO formal training or hands-on operational experience in a certified ISO facility.
Demonstratable leadership aptitude.
Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Must be able to work well with subordinates, co-workers, and management and gain trust at all levels.
Competent in day-to-day use of PCs and Microsoft Office software and SAP software.
The primary shift will be 3:30 PM to Midnight; Monday - Friday (Must be available/willing to work all shifts as necessary.)
