What is a true AC maintenance tune-up?
Caribbean Breeze Heating & Cooling is often asked why our maintenance costs more than the $99–$150 specials you see advertised.
Here’s the reality…
Many of those low-cost tune-ups are designed to be quick:
* Rinse the condenser from the outside
* Check a few electrical components
* In and out
And from the outside, the system looks fine.
But when systems are thoroughly inspected and panels are removed for proper visual evaluation, this is often what’s found:
👉 Coils completely packed with dirt and debris
👉 Airflow restricted
👉 Systems working twice as hard just to cool
At that point, a “basic tune-up” doesn’t fix the problem.
⸻
What Caribbean Breeze Heating & Cooling does is different.
When needed, we:
* Perform a thorough visual inspection of the system
* Remove necessary panels to properly assess internal condition
* Clean coils the right way (not just spray from the outside)
* Remove debris from inside the cabinet
* Ensure the system can actually breathe again
Because if airflow isn’t right, nothing else matters.
⸻
Something most homeowners aren’t told:
Low-cost maintenance offers are often structured to get a technician in the door. From there, additional recommendations may be made once deeper issues are discovered.
There’s nothing wrong with identifying problems—but if the system was never properly cleaned to begin with, it can create confusion about what actually needed to be done.
⸻
Bottom line:
There’s a big difference between:
👉 A quick maintenance
and
👉 Actually restoring system performance
If your system hasn’t been thoroughly cleaned in years, it may need more than just a standard tune-up.
