Custom floating shelves
Step one of custom floating shelves.
This definitely isn't the easiest way to make floating shelves. But, I think it's the way to make the best looking floating shelf.
Breaking down 3/4" thick 4'x8' sheets of maple plywood into individual pieces for the shelves. Tops, bottoms, and faces. All mitered corners everywhere so there's no dumb visible seams.

•Part 2• How to tile your bathroom floor.
Measure twice cut once when laying out. Take the time to plan ahead so your tile ends up looking symmetrical.
Leveling clips are an absolute must when installing floor tile. If you don't use them you're just making your life harder, and risking lippage which no one likes.
Double check the manufacturers specs on allowable layout with the tile your using. Some large formats can be installed at a 50% stagger with no lippage issues. Some cannot.

We recently added this gorgeous bathroom in the basement of a growing family's home.
From bare concrete and rough framing to an impressive full bathroom with a secondary vanity for makeup or haircutting.
The large format tile in the oversized shower really makes a statement and with minimal grout lines it will be super easy to maintain and clean.

Time lapse of some large format tile work from a recent project.
Installed a tub to ceiling surround as well as on the floor through the whole bathroom.
We went with the vertical stack install pattern for the tub surround with a niche seamlessly incorporated into the pattern.
We recently started using the GoBoard shower waterproofing backer board and are loving the system. Foam core so it's super easy to cut. Seal the seams and screw holes with their own waterproofing adhesive and it's ready for tile in like 30 minutes.
