The contractor is the heart of the whole process of building your home. It’s vital you choose someone with not only the knowledge and experience to get the job done, but also someone who cares enough about you and your family to actually WANT to do a good job. This is going to be your home. The home that you have for a lifetime. Make sure it’s built well.
Questions to ask when picking your contractor:
1. How much experience do you have? Lands Construction has been in business since 1985. My dad, Weldon lands (Founder of Lands construction) has built MANY homes and buildings throughout the years. He has also done many renovations. I joined the business in 2017, but have been involved in the business since I was a young child. Between the two of us, you have a combination of classic and modern style homes, built to last a lifetime.
2. Do you back your work? Absolutely! Lands Construction gives a one year warranty from move in date.
3. What makes you different than all the others? We take pride in our work. We EXPECT your home or project to last once finished. You will not have some throw together home. Each step is carefully made and inspected before proceeding to the next step, working toward a sturdy result. Our reputation is very important to us and we take pride in it.
4. How long does it usually take to build a home? Usually 6-8 months, depending on the job.
5. What kind of lumbar do you use? Only the best. 5/8 CDX plywood on roofs, 1/2inch plywood on walls, pressure treated boards, southern yellow pine boards, and spruce boards. We do not use cheap material! It’s too important. If you want a home that lasts, you have to use the best.
6. What is the most important part of building your home? The foundation is the most important part because your home sits on it. We highly recommend stemwall foundation.
7. How available are you to your clients? We are available 24/7. We pride ourselves on having open communication with our clients. We give you our cell phone numbers so you can always call/text us.
