TRENT L. MEYER FOR HASTINGS CITY COUNCIL WARD 2

I have lived in Hastings all 40 plus years of my life. It's where I grew up, raised my kids and operated my businesses. I'm proud of my community, especially its residents, many of whom I know and those I hope to meet.

Over the years I've seen many changes happening. Some of the changes have been positive while some have not, resulting in diminishing corporations and businesses. In the 90s and beyond, a lack of vision has led to minimal growth while surrounding communities have flourished. I often think, what could I do to help grow and move Hastings in a positive direction?

I have an abundance of ideas and a mindset to move our city forward so I decided to run for city council. As a conservative, I plan on insisting on a balanced city budget, cutting wasteful spending to keep taxes at bay, and maintaining the infrastructure already in place. I will do all of this while preserving the history of Hastings. I promise transparency, honestly, accountability, and integrity. I look forward to serving the wonderful people of Hastings, especially those in Ward 2.
