American energy has rural roots.

According to RFA, more than 99% of the ethanol used in the United States is produced here at home.

For communities like ours in Nebraska, that's a reminder that the work happening in our fields and plants reaches beyond home. It helps supply the fuel Americans use every day.

Chief Ethanol is part of that work, alongside the growers and teams who make it possible.

Our growers are at the heart of why we invest.

Chief Ethanol’s plant modernization represents a significant commitment for our family-owned company. The people we serve helped guide that decision.

DJ Eihusen, President and CEO of Chief Industries, shares why growers remain central to our plans for the future.

Thank you for growing with Chief Ethanol.

Nebraska's cornfields may be far from the ocean, but a recent shipping milestone has a connection to agriculture.

Maersk announced that a deep-sea container ship received American-produced corn ethanol in a U.S. ship-to-ship fueling operation.

It's an early step toward understanding how ethanol could be used in commercial shipping.

At Chief Ethanol, new uses for the crops our growers produce are worth understanding. This one has more work ahead, but it offers another possibility for agriculture's future.

Receiving capacity has to match the realities of the operation.

For the Chief Ethanol project, Chief Agri started with the throughput requirement and designed the receiving system around moving trucks through efficiently, including the ability to unload both hoppers at full speed.

Because when receiving gets faster, the people delivering grain notice.

Good conversations continued here in Nebraska!

Following Export Exchange 2026, Chief Ethanol Fuels and Chief Agri welcomed a group from Southeast Asia to the Chief Corporate Office.

The group learned about Chief Agri’s products and their uses across different industries, explored how Chief Ethanol produces ethanol, and discussed markets and logistics for dried distillers grains (DDGS), a livestock feed ingredient.

Their questions sparked conversations about how both industries support agriculture and the needs of customers around the world.

Thank you to our visitors for spending part of your trip with us, and to U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council for helping connect U.S. agriculture with international buyers!

What goes into making a more efficient ethanol plant?

For Chief Ethanol, it means taking a closer look at the energy used to turn corn into ethanol and investing in ways to improve that process.

General Manager Wayne Garrett explains how new technology is targeting an 8:1 energy return as part of the plant’s modernization efforts.

One point of contact can make a complex grain handling project a lot simpler.

For the Chief Ethanol project, Chief Agri's involvement spans the system from receiving through the point where grain enters the ethanol process, bringing equipment, system coordination and ongoing support together.

For ethanol facilities, that means fewer handoffs and one partner across the grain storage and handling system.

One bushel. More than one purpose.

At Chief Ethanol Fuels , corn becomes renewable fuel and a nutrient-rich co-product used in cattle feed. This Manufacturing Month, see how that process supports local cattle producers and how our team helps get feed where it’s needed.

A few familiar Nebraska faces in Seattle!

Brent Hoops and Tommy Orr represented Chief Ethanol at Export Exchange, meeting with international buyers and exploring new markets for our dried distillers grains (DDGS), a livestock feed ingredient.

They also caught up with fellow Nebraskan Jay Reiners of Juniata, chairman of the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council.

Building these relationships helps connect the products we make here at home with customers around the world.
