SUPPLY DRIVE FOR CRITICAL EQUIPMENT
This morning we kicked off our Suffolk County Supply Drive for personal protective equipment to protect our medical professionals and first responders -- the first of its kind on Long Island.

Supplies can be dropped off Weekdays between the hours of 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Suffolk County Fire Academy located at 102 East Avenue in Yaphank.

The County is looking to solicit donations of N95 masks, ear loop face masks, gowns and gloves. For a large donation of supplies or a potential vendor of opportunity, residents can contact [email protected].

Today, Governor Cuomo announced an expansion of the Workforce Development Initiative in order to meet the the ever-growing demand for emerging jobs. This expansion will ensures employers to continue hiring quality workers from within New York. This includes new programs and training centers, allowing people to be trained (or retrained) for new jobs. Among these announcements was the Offshore Wind Training Institute at SUNY Stony Brook and Farmingdale. It's at this institute where training of 2,500 New Yorkers will begin in 2021, when the industry is expected to need a significant number of new, skilled employees.
