πŸ‡πŸŒ± Calling all educators! Join us for the next Let’s GRO Educator Workshop: Vines & Vitality on July 21, 2026, at The Vineyard at Dodon in Davidsonville.

Step outside the classroom and into the vineyard as we explore how agriculture can be used as a real world teaching tool. Participants will get a behind the scenes look at modern viticulture, discover how regenerative practices support soil health and biodiversity, and learn how these concepts connect to science, environmental education, history, economics, and more. πŸ‡πŸŒŽ

As with all Let’s GRO workshops, you’ll leave with classroom ready resources, standards aligned lessons, agriculturally accurate books, and practical ideas you can use right away. Plus, participants receive approximately $100 in educational resources and can earn MSDE CPD credit.

🌾🚜 Ag careers were front and center at Leonardtown Middle School Ag Day!

We were excited to join more than 300 seventh grade students as they explored the many opportunities available in agriculture. From hands on experiences to career conversations, students learned that agriculture includes science, technology, business, communications, natural resources, and so much more.

This event was made possible through a great partnerships between the Tri County Council, St. Mary’s County Public Schools career counselors, 4-H, SMADC, and more community partners committed to helping students explore their futures.

We love seeing students discover new possibilities and make connections between their interests and the wide world of agriculture. The future is bright in Southern Maryland!

🎨🌾 Celebrating creativity through the Colors of Agriculture Art Contest!

Our June winner is Lillian, an 11th grader from Gaithersburg, Maryland. Their artwork features a beautiful farm scene, highlighting growing and the dedication that goes into producing the food, fiber, and resources we rely on every day. 🌱🚜

As summer gets underway, fields and farms across Maryland are busy growing crops and preparing for the harvest seasons ahead. Lillian’s artwork captures the growth and promise that make this time of year so exciting in agriculture.

Congratulations, Lillian, and thank you for sharing your creativity with us this June!

🌾🚜 Ag careers were on full display at Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore Ag Day!

We joined more than 300 students from grades 4 through 8 from across the Lower Eastern Shore for a day of career exploration and hands on learning. Students had the opportunity to meet professionals and discover how their interests can connect to future careers.

We loved sharing the many opportunities available in agriculture, from animal science and environmental careers to technology, communications, and everything in between. Events like this help students see that agriculture is a diverse industry with a place for everyone.

A big thank you to Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore for bringing students and industry professionals together for such a valuable experience. The future of Maryland agriculture is bright! πŸ’š

🍎🌾 From learning to teaching!

Recently, we worked with 11th grade students in the Teacher Academy of Maryland program, helping them discover how agriculture can be used as a teaching tool in any classroom. Those future educators put their lessons into action!

Using resources like the USA Commodity Map and focusing on the food we eat every day, students learn lessons that connected agriculture to real life. From where food comes from to the many products grown across our state, they can help younger students see agriculture in a whole new way. πŸŒ±πŸ—ΊοΈπŸŽ

It was exciting to watch these future teachers build confidence and bring agriculture into the classroom. We are proud of the work they did and can’t wait to see where their teaching journeys take them next!

🌾🚜 Agriculture careers were on full display at Central Middle School in Anne Arundel County today!

With more than 1,000 students and over 100 presenters, this career exploration event gave students a chance to learn about a wide variety of future pathways. We enjoyed working with 8th grade students and sharing how agriculture connects to careers in science, technology, communications, animal care, environmental stewardship, business, and so much more. 🌱

One of our favorite parts of these events is watching students discover that agriculture is much bigger than they imagined. The future of Maryland agriculture is bright, and it starts with helping students explore the opportunities available to them today!
