This dryer vent had to make its way through an attic, so Jim installed it with hard pipe and proper insulation—and found a way to get it outside correctly despite the tricky layout.

Sometimes it takes a little creativity and experience to get the job done right. 🔧

🥶 Why Does My AC Keep Freezing Up?

If you look at your AC and see ice on the refrigerant lines or the outdoor unit, it might seem strange when it’s hot outside—but your system can actually freeze up for several different reasons.

Here are some of the most common causes:

❄️ Dirty air filter
A plugged filter restricts airflow, which can cause the evaporator coil to get too cold and freeze.

❄️ Restricted airflow
Closed vents, blocked returns, dirty coils, or other airflow problems can have the same effect.

❄️ Low refrigerant
If your system is low on refrigerant, the pressure can drop and cause the coil to become cold enough to freeze. Low refrigerant usually means there is a leak that needs to be found and repaired.

❄️ Dirty evaporator coil
A buildup of dirt on the indoor coil can restrict airflow and lead to freezing.

❄️ Blower or other mechanical problems
If your indoor blower isn’t moving enough air, the coil can get too cold and freeze.

🚨 What should you do if your AC freezes up?

Turn the system off and let the ice completely melt. Don’t try to chip the ice off—it can damage your equipment.

Then check your filter. If it’s dirty, replace it. If the system freezes up again, it’s time to have it checked out.

A frozen AC isn’t something you want to ignore. The ice is a symptom—the real problem is what caused it.

We’re excited to be part of a new project alongside Refine Homes! 🏠🔨

This building has a new owner who is preparing it for their new business location, and we’ll be replacing the existing HVAC system with new, high-efficiency equipment to help give the building a fresh start.

We’re especially excited to be working with Mike Erb, Project Manager with Refine Homes. Mike has been great to work with—professional, knowledgeable, and easy to communicate with. Having people who care about doing things right and keeping a project moving makes a big difference, and we’re looking forward to seeing this one come together!

It’s always exciting when local businesses can work together to help bring a new project to life. We’re proud to have the Town & Country Heating signs right alongside the Refine Homes signs on this one! 👊
