Midwest Energy has an opening for a Field Service Representative in our Great Bend District. This position can be located out of Great Bend, Kinsley, Lyons or St. John. Primary duties include assisting in the coordination and planning of electric and/or natural gas facilities by obtaining easements, planning location, and survey routing.

The Midwest Energy Board of Directors has selected two high school juniors to represent us at the annual NRECA Youth Tour in Washington D.C., this June, and 18 high school seniors to receive a $1,000 scholarship paid directly to the student. We're proud to support such bright individuals in our service area!

A quick shout out to the 5 Colby District crews and 2 Great Bend crews who spent graduation weekend doing storm restoration work! A total of 42 poles in Sheridan Co., 16 in Thomas Co., and 13 in Sherman Co., knocked down by powerful storms late Saturday night. These crews kept on it until the last residential meters came back online Monday morning... well done, Linemen!

UPDATE 5/18/26: As many of the rural roads in this area received 2-5" of rain this morning, Tuesday's outage is cancelled; with more rain forecast, no make-up date has been set. We'll advise once known.

PLANNED OUTAGE: Tuesday, May 19 from as early as 7:15 am - 5 pm, affecting large areas of NE Barton Co. and SE Russell County, south of I-70. The map below is a very rough outline of the outage boundaries; affected customers will have received phone calls, but word may not have gotten to everyone as many of the affected meters are oilfield or ranches/irrigation with tenants. If you have any questions about this outage, please call us at 1-800-222-3121. Thank you!
