Before hiring someone to work on your commercial building, make sure they are properly licensed.

In Alabama, commercial/general contracting work generally requires a licensed General Contractor when the project is $100,000 or more, including labor and materials. Subcontractors working under a licensed prime contractor also need to be licensed when their contract is $100,000 or more.

Hiring a licensed contractor helps protect you, your property, and your investment. The cheapest price is not always the safest choice — always verify before you hire.

It’s 8 PM and we’re still going through plans, checking details, and making sure everything is lined up for tomorrow.

A lot of the work people never see happens after hours — reviewing drawings, planning the next steps, catching issues before they become problems, and making sure our crews have what they need to keep the job moving the right way.

At Voak Construction, we take pride in being prepared because the details matter. Our goal is always to deliver the best possible outcome and a finished product we can stand behind.

Finally got a break in the weather, and our crews are back at it.

We are working on a school roofing project during summer break so we can keep the job moving while students are out. The top shingle section and far-right section have already been completed by Voak, and we’re now moving forward on the remaining shingle areas with the PVC roof section in the middle to follow.

Proud of our crew for pushing through the weather delays and getting back to work the right way.

Voak Construction is continuing to grow, and we are very thankful for the great subcontractors and trade partners who help us complete our projects every day.

As our workload continues to increase, we are looking to expand our subcontractor bid list so we can better serve our clients, improve scheduling, and create more opportunities for qualified local trades.
