FIRST SNOW/SLEET FORECAST (as of 6pm, 1-21-26):
Still a couple days out from when this comes into the area Fri eve. So, much can still change!

Lots of sleet is expected to mix with the snow in the River Valley, cutting down on totals there. Mostly snow (some sleet) in NWA.

First wave of sleet & snow comes in Friday evening/night, with a bit more off-&-on for Saturday ... before another widespread & more persistent wave of snow/sleet moves thru Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Three primary questions remain:
1. Just how intense is the first wave of snow/sleet Friday night?
2. Intensity and position of heaviest snow/sleet Saturday night?
3. How much does sleet cut down on overall totals in the River Valley? And could the arctic air pushing in Saturday night help shift heaviest snow more into the River Valley & central AR?

The answer to these questions will largely dictate how we edit this map the next few days. No question this map will need to be updated ... this is just the initial expectation. So, stay tuned!
