If the new owner of our puppy should happen to see the post , I wanted to share exactly what you are in possession of. Our collies have been a family tradition since I was a little girl and my grandfather , an excellent dog training coal minor from Bluefield WV taught me to handle them at 3 years old. I have kept them my entire life as well as most of my cousins from that side of the family. We are a Native American family, these dogs are very spiritual to us , our pack had never been divided in 16 yrs, we do not breed them, we add to the bloodline as our family grows with grandchildren and new spouses , everyone in the family gets a dog and we are a big family.
As one can imagine this is a deep violation of the intention of our family pets after a 40 yr investment. My grandfather used them to track the mountains of bluefield , I use them for my enjoyment as well as to chase in-laws and thieves .
Our property is under surveillance with a staff of rotating caretakers and tradesmen. The dogs especially Charlotte is highly protective , stealth and loves to take down the largest animal she can find, for a thief to track up a 700ft mountain ridge drive and hope these dogs wonโt round you up at one command if she is loose and head of the pack or even worse they may become unstoppable in herding you if we are not there to restrict them and Charlotte feels threatened. The grandmother (Charlotte came from a champion cattle/horse herding breeder and the father is from Lancaster a sweet dairy herding gentle dog. The combination of traits come out randomly with some of them more aggressive in constant herding needs for stimulation or some grow to be sweet and gentle like the dairy herding father. Please be good to the dog and study what it needs , it is the only one to leave us and as a female I am very concerned for her and the intentions of future owner.
