FTC 5826 The Metal Ducks FIRST Tech Challenge Team 5826, The Metal Ducks The club is a part of the FIRST Robotics and compete in the FTC League.

The Western Center Academy, a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) charter school, is home to the Western Center Mammoth Robotics club. The students design, build and program robots based on the current years challenge. Students construct the robot using LEGO Tetrix components and PTC Creo CAD (computer aided design) software to design the robots. The robots are programmed using LabVie

w and are controlled both autonomously and through a user-controlled device. Part of being a successful FTC team includes getting involved in the community, spreading the message of FIRST and getting the community involved. By being in robotics, the students are learning leadership skills, teamwork, presentation techniques and business skills such as marketing, scouting competitions and overcoming challenges. The motto of FIRST is “Gracious Professionalism”; competing with each other while helping each other to be the best.
