‼️Wanted to remind our customers of a few things with the extreme winter weather moving in‼️
1. Check your air filters (they play a huge roll in your heating system reaching its maximum potential)
2. Heat pumps have a defrost cycle.
What this means is, your outdoor unit will mildly freeze up. When the outdoor sensor detects ice, the defrost cycle will start and run for 10-15 mins, and melt away the ice. The funny sounds are normal and your outdoor fan will stop turning during this cycle. It helps raise the temperature of the coil to melt the frost. If your unit is covered in ice and not working, call us at 256-657-2371.
3. We are already receiving much higher call volume than normal business days. Before you call, keep in mind that we will prioritize calls that have no source of heat over calls that do have a back up option (gas logs, gas wall heaters, etc). However, we want to ensure every call is handled appropriately and all customers are served appropriately.
4. In the event there is a power outage, your electric furnaces, heat pumps , nor gas furnace systems will operate. Unfortunately, we have no control over the power grid.
5. In the event of road closures, we will be limited by accessibility to certain locations.
I hope to find you all safe and healthy. May God bless you.
Sincerely,
Brad Watkins
