You know that fan spinning on top of your outdoor AC unit?
That's your condenser fan motor.
Its job is to move air across the outdoor coil and remove the heat collected from inside your home.
Your indoor coil absorbs heat from the air inside your house. That heat is carried outside through the refrigerant and released through the outdoor coil. The condenser fan motor helps push that heat away from the system.
When this motor fails, your AC may stop cooling properly, overheat, trip breakers, or even damage the compressor.
Typical replacement cost: $620-$650 installed.
